BUMB FOR RESPONSE
BUMB FOR RESPONSE
Bumpity, bump
Gonna TANK bump this thread for a SE response.
2nd DC today in an hour... I hope I won't get to the 20 of yesterday...
Neighbour with the same connection, same modem, same router, same game, same internet provider can play without any lag...
I would have agreed but there is no lag whatsoever when I play on a server located on the JP Data Center. The problem seems to come from the NA/EU data center connection to our ISP and not the game itself. It's probably something they did to the NA/EU data center that's causing our ISPs problem (because I didn't experience lag spikes in August). You wont have to change ISP, becuase the game is new and most ISP's use a sandvine system for automated throttling. the ISP's just need to update the detection ruless.
When you look at the fact there are few who have the ISPs in this thread. while others in the same area as you who are on a different ISP who don't have the problem. It's clear on who is at fault.
Edit:
And for those who still don't believe this:

I was doing great for a few days... until about 10 minutes ago.
Sadface.
I have this problem when using the same connection as my girlfriend, who doesn't have the problem. So I'm not sure it's an ISP issue.
I live in Hampton Roads, VA and have FIOS with the same issues. It started after the server patch and hasn't stopped. It worse in duty finder and fates. So far I have been able to clear some dungeons because I compensated for the freeze lag by continuing my rotation even with the freeze.
I lost the easy Lvl 30 THM quest because of the freeze and lag spike. When that happen it was only freezing when I would go to instance fights. Now it will do it random in the world also while doing fates and quest/leve mobs,.
I have a Verizons second tier speed and doing the speed test everything is fine and anything else I play or stream works just fine. BF3, Guild Wars 2 and any of my steam games work just fine online. So I know it's not the ISP that's the issue. I even used my ASrock utility program to open up the bandwidth for this game and it didn't help.

after 3 days of lag free game-play. My lag has returned with a vengeance as of 6pm est on 9/5
I'm going to post the same thing in every thread I see pop up regarding the lag.
Getting r0 every 5-10 seconds EVERYWHERE I go in game. Has been happening since the update/maintenance on Sept 4th when the brought out the 1000MB patch file. Nothing I have tried fixes it. Already spoke to my ISP who assures me they are not blocking or throttling me in any way. We have a 30Mbps download speed connection, with 3-5Mbps Upload speed. Speedtests to multiple different servers around the world have come back normal, and all other games/mmo's connect and function as they should. Only FFXIV seems to be having this receive rate 0 lag issue.
I have tried other servers such as Sargatanas and Tonberry and I still get the same lag. The lag does not improve even if I am in non-traffic areas such as my inn room. I still get the lag.
15-20mins after logging in I often get error 90k.
