Thank you for this. You wont have to change ISP, becuase the game is new and most ISP's use a sandvine system for automated throttling. the ISP's just need to update the detection ruless.
When you look at the fact there are few who have the ISPs in this thread. while others in the same area as you who are on a different ISP who don't have the problem. It's clear on who is at fault.
Edit:
And for those who still don't believe this:

How can it be the isp, so many ppl from so many countries with so many different isp's sudden get this issue after the update, so all those different isp's in all those different countries suddenly decided all at the same time to start throttling? You wont have to change ISP, becuase the game is new and most ISP's use a sandvine system for automated throttling. the ISP's just need to update the detection ruless.

And then only cousin this issue in ffxiv? not in any other mmo? Not logical. if you read all the posts from ppl that have investigated this, incl. my self you will see that there is one cimularety for all of us: te0-4-0-3.ccr21.ymq02.atlas.cogentco.com - No response from host
So far so good on new NA server
That's not what it is, unless multiple ISPs from multiple parts of the world all decided to throttle FFXIV all around the same exact time frame.
bump for response
Same problem on Cactuar using RCN cable in Chicago. Friends in my region are experiencing the issue as well.
This is happening to different people, with different ISPs. One thing I noticed is that the our network speed indicator goes to 0 whenever this happens to me. Sent is ok, but received is at 0.
Seems like a server issue to me. I played this game perfectly in beta and even when we could barely get on, whenever I got in. Starting the day before the big maintenance I cannot go a day without lag spikes or being disconnected at least 4 times in a day.
This is the case for everything. I've tried:
Resetting everything.
Changing rules in my router.
Checking out my Windows Firewall.
I was going to redownload the game, however I see that many people had did this already and it didn't matter.
I would like at least first a confirmation on this problem, so at least my group members don't look at me like I'm a noob during boss fights.
I live in Philadelphia, PA area. Diabolos. 50D 15U.
Yup same here. Played in Beta, EA and several days after public release with no problems, so unless I'm not understanding something here, I don't think it has anything to do with my ISP since this wasn't a problem at the time. This is happening to different people, with different ISPs. Same issue here, massive lag spikes, lots of 90k. Can't heal a dungeon with this kind of service, just come back to find tank dead and party angry at you.
The sad part is that I'm 2km away from their data center. Will try to VPN through my work to see if my work ISP's route works better.
