What class is right for me?

I like being original, but I don't like pressure, So pure tanking and pure healing is not for me (I know this from a previous MMO, I was a healer on one character and a tank on another... I quit both characters. LOL).

I do like being IN the battle, not too far away like a mage or archer. If it helps I want to be smack-dabbed in the middle between Off-Tanking and Damage Dealing.

I don't like being killed in at least 3 hits... I want stable defense, but good enough accuracy that I won't miss often.

    to being original I was thinking maybe a Conjurer/THM/Lancer or a Conjurer/THM/Gladiator?

    Thoughts or suggestions?

Any suggestions, I'm up for Cross-Classing as well, just tell me what I should do.

If you want to off-tank/DPS, then I'd suggest Marauder. They get the most HP in the game. But right now Marauders have some serious accuracy problems. Those issues improve a little when you get to higher levels, but they never fully go away. So if you choose Marauder, you'd have to deal with missing a lot. (I ran leves last night and, at one point, missed 9 swings in a row.) And yes, my main job is Marauder.

Gladiators are the best tanks in the game. They also generally do the least damage out of any melee class. So if you don't want to tank, I wouldn't suggest Glad.

Lancers lean more toward the DPS side. They're a little lighter on HP, and don't make good tanks. You're usually not going to die in 3 hits, but you're generally more squishy than other melee jobs.

Sounds like maybe Pugilist would be best for you. They're decent tanks -- focusing primarily on evasion, rather than absorbing tons of damage -- and they do decent damage. Each hit does less damage, but a) they get two attacks to every other class's one attack; and b) at higher levels, you can buy a special attack that nets you tons of TP, which means you can launch tons of special attacks. And Simian Thrash just looks cool.

Obviously, mages are not usually going to be in the middle of battle. But there's little question right now that Thm is the most powerful class in the game. At level 50, they can solo NMs. They do the most damage on NMs out of any class, and they're the best healers in the game, too. (Although, fair warning, they're so powerful that I kind of expect they'll get nerfed soon.)

Honestly, though, the differences in classes are not so huge that they make an incredible difference. So I'd just play them all until you figure out what you enjoy playing the most, and stick with that job. Or, better yet, get them all to 50 so you can play them all.

Thanks! Would you say mixing is good or should I just experiment myself? If you do mix, what would be a good combo?

Mixing is definitely good. For example, Lancers have a skill called "Feint." What Feint does is, anytime you miss, you can use "Feint" to get an automatic hit that does piercing damage. Since Marauders are whiff factories, it's a great skill to have on your bar as a Marauder.

I think that SE intended for people to cross-class to at least some degree. So, for example, Marauders have some really good aggro-grabbing abilities. The best tanks (usually Gladiators) will level Marauder high enough that they can equip those aggro-grabbing abilities from Marauder. Anytime you use cross-class abilities, they're nerfed a little. So you'll have longer recast times and sometimes you'll do slightly less damage. But they're extremely useful depending on the situation.

For general DPS, you can get some of the most frequently used cross-class skills from Warby's Marauder guide. Link here. (I've got to say that Warby did a great job with that guide.)

The game is still new, and it's still changing, so we're not at a point where anyone can provide definitive answers on what skills are "the best." I'd suggest playing around with it some and just figuring out what you find useful and/or fun. Take advantage of the fact that this game lets you play around with roles and tailor your character to anything you want. Hopefully in a couple of months you can come back and tell us what you think is best.
