I am absolutely at my wits end with this 1017/this world is currently full nonsense. Now the NA/EU server list wont even pop up AT ALL. I have 3 characters I can't touch because of this madness. I am THIS close to getting a refund and not playing at all. It's completely unfair and unjust. I have never been so upset. All I wanted to do was come home from work and play some FFXIV. Nope not happening. They make us wait eons for this and no one can get in and play. It's ridiculous and insulting. It just isn't right. None of us players should have to struggle to get to characters that have already been established on a server. No new players should have to scramble to find a server to call their home. It's an MMO! Did SE forget what MMO stands for?! MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE!! Perhaps the massive part didn't ring any bells? I'll say it one more time for you SE.... MASSIVE! Huge! Ginormous! High influx of players! You should have been prepared for the masses to walk Eorzea!

Not many games get a do-over, and SE managed to snag one. So far they're blowing it :/ Got a couple of people I know close to canceling pre-orders, and if they quit, I probably will too. An MMORPG isn't any fun if you can't play it with your friends and family.

Regarding Congestion in Japan Data Center Worlds (Aug. 27)
Currently, an extremely high number of players are enjoying the game. Should the number of players continue to increase at the current pace, there is the possibility that our expectations and server capacity will be greatly surpassed. Therefore, in order to maintain a stable gameplay environment, we are implementing login and character creation restrictions.

In order to be able to welcome a drastically greater number of players, we are starting as early as this week with preparations to increase our facilities, to be ready by early next week. Until that time, we will be continuing to implement these restrictions as required, and we ask for your understanding and patience.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and once again thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

So I really hope this goes for us NA/EU players as well. Being as this was addressing the JP data centers it leads me to believe, unfortunately, that it isnt. Which is just wrong. NA/EU have been having problems for days and the first hint of a problem for the JP servers and they get an update saying they are going to get new servers. If it is for us as well, then why couldnt we get a small update letting us know this. Im sure a lot of people would of been grateful.

2nd Edit - You know, in most games, you would of seen 8 million posts asking for refunds by now. There have been a few here and there, but for the most part you have 8 million posts saying " LET ME PLAY". SE, you did it. You took a really crappy game and remade it into something that is wonderful. Now - Let.Us.Play!

I as well have had the problem all day. Like some of you others also work a 9-10 hour shift...when I get home I'm so ready to chill out and get some game on. Well not today. Never ever ever have I not been able to play a game because of world being full. Launch or not. Never. Tired of seeing "well this happens in every new MMO launch". Bullshit. Servers go down, crash, maintenance sure. But never just straight up not being able to play because sorry world is full come back later. Put me in a freaking que FFS. Start kicking all these inconsiderate AFKers and mfing gil farmers.

been trying for almost 3 hours now .. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SE do a server restart .. kick some afk'ers .. let them have this problem later when they try to get back in .. if they would just do a server restart every 8-10 hours until they fix the problem, alot more people will be able to play .. it would suck haveing to log back in when they do restart .. but atleast people will be able to get in, and not spend hours fighting the log in boss (its just to much of a rinse and repeat fight and just to long to grind)
