I really don't think simple ignorance is a strong basis for hostility.
It certainly doesn't help anyone. Just kindly correct them and next time we can avoid wasting half the thread bickering.
And how about when people are having to continuously correct the said person? Not everyone has the patience for stupidity.
Then they better learn it. Because they're gonna be dealing with it their entire lives.
Conversations based on anger and frustration will only snowball into a bigger argument because people have the tendency to defend themselves when met with hostile conditions. As evidenced by this and many many other threads all over the internet.
