You do know that balanced doesn't mean easier. It could be balanced so that it is challenging with 8 players.

They never reduced the group size in FFXI, so where's the logic behind this statement?

Where in her post do you see "alliances! alliances!"? The group size in FFXI is 6, they never reduced it from 6 which means there's no logic behind that SE will automatically make something easier just because they reduce a party size, this is their first MMO out of 3 they've done this.

I highly doubt it as it was clear she was talking about the group size (also known as party size).

My basis is they do stupid crap all the time. Adjusting strength of NM's to coincide with a party reduction screams weakening of NM's.
