It's great to have someone like him so passionate about creating a great game. They've done a great job. These server issues will soon disappear, just like any other mmo in history. I'm not holding that against them, it's pretty shallow to do so. You can never predict how many players you might get. I'm sure they planned for a large number of players. And due to the overwhelming popularity we are having the issues we are having. Again though just like any other mmo, the server issues will pass, and everything will be good. It'll all be water under the bridge, and we'll all joke about how we had troubles logging in, and one day it wont be something we even care about, we'll just be having a blast in game.

they dont know how many pre orders they sold? really, in this electronic day and age they cant have a simple script counting every time someone pre-orders? They weren't even ready to deal with just the pre order early access numbers let alone opening it to the rest of the potential players? Its impossible for them to not know they didnt have the capacity. Sorry this is an excuse

People seriously need to calm down.
We're *all* frustrated by not being able to log in. Some of us also realize that these complications are to be expected and that they will be addressed.

The server issues will get fixed, the sun will continue to rise, and gravity will continue to do its thing.
Believe it or not, things *are* improving. Some people can actually sign on, Duty Finder works, the errors are becoming less and less frequent (barring 1017).
Granted, things are not improving as fast as some of us would like it to (myself included) happen but that's life for ya.
You deal with it.
If your biggest problem with the game is error 1017 then you just need to be patient. Acting like a petulant child isn't going to make the fixes come any faster. I assure you, they are working on it. They want people to play the game.

As for Yoshida's speech- I'm glad that he was able to achieve relaunching FFXIV. It was an uphill battle to say the least and I can see why he would feel a bit overwhelmed.

You aren't paying a single cent yet. Early Access was extended to Friday, so your free month will not begin until that day.

It's honestly disgusting to me some of the comments I'm seeing. This guy and his team are clearly very passionate about this and are trying their best to get things worked out as quickly as possible.

Could things have gone better? Of course. But as another user above has said, these problems will all but disappear after a short time and the game will be nothing but smooth sailing from that point forward.

While it is good to see that the producer and the team are passionate about the game, I wish they had the same focus of passion to include to NA/EU players as they do the JP players.

If they can put that passion and drive into ensuring that the NA/EU region is running as smoothly as the JP one then I'll be the first to give them the praise they'll deserve.
