Seriously people its day one, Calm down. This happens in every new big MMO. Yes, SE could be handling it better. The main problem right now is AFK players. They need to add a log out timer. This is honestly a fairly obvious oversight on their part but an easy fix.

I understand the calm down message, but seriously, its not day one, Square had THREE YEARS to get this to work. Its not a new MMO, which is why I will be harder on them than other companies.

It's actually day 4. After 4 betas, with the same problems persisting from the very beginning. And despite being such an easy thing to fix, SE has shown no interest in fixing it, or any of the issues plaguing the NA/EU servers. This is 2013, not 2004, and as a paying customer, this should not fly.

I've been trying all day to make a character and there have been 0 worlds open, so I can't even complete character creation. None of my beta characters carried over either so I can't even use them. This is a piss poor launch, one that should have never happened if they wanted to retain a player base especially after the debacle that was the original 14.

While normally I'd agree with the 'calm down' mindset, the somewhat glaring lack of an AFK Timer is fairly good cause for aggravation.

I agree they have already tried this once and failed had all this time to make it better. handed out all these codes and such and di not prepare their servers for all. i mean really are they wanting it to fail??? how are you going to give out so many beta codes early release and sell so many copies and think those people will not log in!!! i have pd over 160 for me and my husbands game and i feel very ripped off!! during the beta i delt with the problems but now it is my hard earned money that i have spent on a game that is total crap. i played ff11 when it first came out and there were not problems even close to this on launch day. get it together se or just give up and have another failed attempt at perfecting 11.

THIS IS NOT DAY ONE!!! Early access started 4 days ago and I was able to log in to create a character sat night, and not abl eto log in again until monday night. Again, NOT NOT NOT NOT day 1. As well, I am SO tired of this. This is launch day this happens to all mmo's..blah blah blah. Well the industry needs to wake up and really understand what beta's are for. Especially for the hype that was put around this rebirth of ff14. If ANY companies out there are learning something. They should just start with a tiered launch from now on. EVERY person who orders a game form now on gets assigned a number, randomly. Then over the course of two weeks or a month, they are allowed to log in based on where they were randomly put in the tiers. Perhaps then, ther ewill be no more. "Well it is day 1" Complete fiasco BS.

You sound like one of the arrogant customers that come into my store when you buy something defective and get pissed when I can't instantly fix it. You're right its 2013, have a cookie for figuring that out. No large MMO has ever had a clean launch. And don't give me that "It's actually day 4." crap... There are people who couldn't log in until day one. SE had to wait to see how many people wanted in before they could find a permanent solution.
