1017 and Timeline

All kidding, bashing and other petulance aside.

Could we please have a timeline to expect when we can be able to play freely? I really feel like this will turn out to be a long affair and that's coming from personal IT experience with servers.

I understand congestion and what it can do to datacenters very well (I support local government databases for every county and surrounding states, every time there's an emergency we go through crashes).

Can we please have some kind of meaningful acknowledgement with a plan of action so I know my subscription dollars aren't be wasted on the perpetuality of 1017 every evening?

Yes indeed. Saying "We're sorry" is nice but an empty gesture without some assurance that things will be better relatively soon.

Thank you, and like I said I don't want to bash the game. It is seriously the WoW killer I've awaited, and I have played -every- paid MMORPG since Everquest. But I just want to be able to enjoy this amazing game.

Right! It could even be a pop back to us with "Okay, sorry aside, we expect to either force realm transfers or have new hardware in by X date, please be patient, until then you get times x EXP gain per every hour you spend offline to make up" or something random, you know like an action plan with meaningful gestures.

Again, not bashing Yoshi or SE, I just want results or intent.

This is all I'm asking for, but apparently it's asking too much.

I've been unable to play this game other than since Sunday due to 1017. Why they chose to launch the game when the servers already couldn't handle the load is beyond me.
Now it's been two days and there hasn't been any word on it at all other than "We're sorry" and implementing a workaround that makes it impossible to play.

If they haven't issued some kind of update with a timetable of when to expect any sort of fix that actually lets me play by tomorrow I'm issuing a charge back to my credit card. I can't in good conscience, no matter how much I want to support the devs, pay for something I'm unable to use.

Mother lovin' bump. This is inexcusable as the game has made an official launch and is embarrassing itself all over again. The one repeat situation you absolutely did not want to have is sitting right there in front of you and you had all the prep time to ensure it wouldn't.

All you have to do is promise players that, whatever server they have to use for now, they will be able to transfer their characters out to their desired server destination once you set up proper infrastructure where it is so badly needed.

Agree completely. This game is solid fun. We just need some feedback/communication from SE on timeline/what's being done to correct this. Many of us need to schedule game time and 1017 simply doesn't work.
