The Be-All-End-All Thread on the Grand Admiral! (Now can we stop arguing?)

Let me end the speculation and arguments. I am convinced that the Grand Admiral is Roegadyn. Here are the key points of the proof for Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn's race:

• Her Nose.
• Her Neck.
• Her hairstyle.
• Her name.

At first glance, Merlwyb appears to be a Duskwight Elezen. But that is incorrect. If you examine how the shape of the bridge/sellus (the inner curve) of her nose is, and the slightly muscular build of her neck (even with a slight adam's apple look to it), the wider frame of her shoulders and her upper chest (not her tits, damn it...above those), and her overall hairstyle with long dangling sidelocks.

These are the hallmarks of a Roegaedyn, either male or female. They have strong, broad noses. They have diverse, chaotic hairstyles - either flowing or not. Their body builds are unique in that they are wide-set, and heavy with muscle. The biggest key is her name. Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn is not an Elezen name by any measure, and most certainly not a Duskwight name.

Therefore, the argument of her race being Roegadyn is strongly in favor.

This is perhaps Yoshida's way of telling us that he hasn't been ignoring the majority's calls for equal genders in the Roegadyn and Miqo'te races.

Now, can we please stop the arguments and the debates? I know some people on the forums love debate, but this isn't a viable topic for such a heated discussion. Naoki Yoshida has heard us, and he has answered us.

I think another key point to make, is that she is the admiral and commanding officer of LL.. You look at the back story involving LL and a majority of it revolves around Roegadyn leadership. Besides that, her ears are def. not elezen ears, and her build is much more broad than an elezen.

Consider the commonality of Roegadyns in Limsa Lominsa. The Sea Wolves, which are a category of Roegadyn of the same skin color as Merlwyb, have a naval heritage. It makes sense that a woman in their ranks would set themselves apart from the men and become a trusted leader of the masses. Judging by her appearance, I would judge her to be old enough to have had experience in the lower echelons of Roegadyn society all the way up to the very top.

lol, If you think about it, female roeg. would probably already have similar features to a duskwight. I assume they are much larger in height, and in build though.

Well devs replied that there will be male Miqote and Female Roegadyn in a future expansion, so it's fair that they start to introduce those before we can actually play them

I thought it was pretty obvious she was Roegadyn as soon as I saw the image it was the first thing that I thought as she has all the trademark features of the Roegadyn race.
