Help: Error when trying to play PSN downloaded version

Hi, my friend has just bought the standard edition from the Playstation Store. It's installed fine and shows up on his Services List, but a server error came up when he was going through the initial process of registering it to his SE account. Now it asks him to go through the start up process again every time, but ends by saying 'no valid service account' and kicking him back to the start. It seems to have linked his PSN/SE accounts correctly, but not created a FFXIV account.

As I pursuaded him to buy the game, I'm feeling a little guilty! Can anyone assist?

I got the same problem, I already have a service account as I have Windows CE version. I'm redownloading the game client on PS3 and will launch that again in hope it will be "activated" on PSN and some how that will tell Mog Stations that I got a valid PSN code and what-not...

I'm having the same problem... Can play fine on pc, but nothing works on the ps3 it seems. I did get to the linking accounts stage, but got an error there, and ever since then I'm getting the "no valid service account" message.

Same. And if you try to launch the PS3 client, you go through the initial stage, and up to the part where you were asked if you have Square Enix Account - where it used to have 2 buttons - now only showing "I currently possessed a Square Enix Account." option. Continue with that, you would not be able to change the Square Enix ID - greyed out, so it seems like the SEN-SQEX account tie-in is a success - however after the login, you'll get "No valid service account" error...

Exactly the same. The Mog Station / Support Desk info simply says that the game should work without the need to enter any code (none being supplied). The game does not appear in your SE profile (mycosynth's link) and you can't register it as no product code.

I'm stumped as to what to suggest next.

I'm willing to wait for SEN to sync up their digital purchase with SQEX, however I just came across that SE is suspending all digital sales at the moment...
