Beastcoins what are they for?

What drops them and how high level are they? I assume beastmen, (duh lol) but I thought all the beastmen were over rank 50. Which is probably not a problem to you guys, but of course I can't take them on currently, just curious though.

Get an ls, I'm not rank 50 and I've done a ton of the Faction leves with beastmen in them

then they should be listed under currency and not take up inventory space.

Oh i hear that, linkshells are dying. I genuinely am sorry :/ I don't really have an ls right just a social one, I didn't like people getting uppity about stupid crap that didn't mean anything yet. (gear currently) And I realized a point system sucks for XIV in a linkshell.

Maybe the Grand Companies of Eorzea can find some way of utilizing them, as a symbol of adventurers doing their part in protecting their lands...

i see three possible uses for them in the future.
1 smelting
2 trade with beast tribes
3 use in direct creation of armor and items.

the reason i say the last is zam had a listing of all the items hidden away in the .dats that they were forced to remove. and there were pieces of armor that listed there "Decoration" as beast coins.

but right now they serve as minus inventory space. That's not stopping me from growing my little collection though. yea its a bit of a taxation of my over all inventory but i look at is as a long term investment.

There are 7 beast tribes in Eorzea and 7 types of beast coins
there are 3 of each type of beastcoin... for instance 3 Goblin Gobcog's
Of the 3 for each type, the most common one is R10, the midrange one is R32 and the rarest is R95

I'll be nice and hint to their locations
Ixali
10 - Ixali Willowknot
32 - Ixali Mapleknot
95 - Ixali Ebonknot
Word of Ixali in north west shroud.. only one spotted rarely though....
You'll find them in a certain faction special mission too

Goblin
10 - Brass Gobcog
32 - Silver Gobcog
95 - Gold Gobcog
I don't have to tell anyone where the Goblins are

Sylphs
10 - Sylphic Brownleaf
32 - Sylphic yellowleaf
95 - Sylphic redleaf
Secluded sections of the Black Shroud

Amal'jaa
10 - Bronze Amalj'ok
32 - Iron Amalj'ok
95 - Darksteel Amalj'ok
Hard to reach places in Thanalan Desert... near upper level camps

Kobold
10 - Titan Copperpiece
32 - Titan Mythrilpiece
95 - Titan Electrumpiece
They enjoy higher La Noscean elevations... and in several faction leves

Qiqirn
10 - Ququroon Doom-Die
32 - Gagaroon Luck-Die
95 - Peperoon Fate-Die
not too hard to find.. they are actually in a few zones... forest and desert... if you look hard enough

None in the game as of yet

As far as their use... all the ideas expressed so far are possible...
Currency (either as trade with the beast tribes or like the Allagan rune stones are now)
Armor pieces
Unlock some type of NM

Either way, I'd make room for them if you've got em

Start collecting them, they have a use that is not yet implemented, collect them, GOTTA COLLECT THEM ALL !!! I even buy some from 50-100k a pop, depending on type, when this @#%% goes live ill have well over 40 of each beastcoins, ill be prepared, and so should you, /tinfoilhatON !

Are there really any use of this beastcoins? So far I already sold the cheap ones.
