Petition to have auto log-off for long time afkers

Dear Square-Enix,

Please implement a feature in FFXIV ARR to have longtime afkers be logged off automatically after a certain period of time as to free up slots for people logging on to actually play the game. I understand that this is still too early to tell as to how servers will populate in the long run, but I see no harm in recycling actual players playing into the game rather than having 25% of the people on just afk.

One of the backbones of a good mmo is getting players to be recycled in and out of the games. People come and people go. This is very much like that and I think it will allow healthy game play for everyone without having to stay logged on in FEAR of not being able to log back in during prime time hours of play.

A quick and dirty patch to bring in an automated process for disconnecting clients. with limited testing because the community is foaming at the mouth?

I can only imagine how that would go wrong. I would rather the issue of the servers becoming unstable once over a certain threshold be addressed. It's not my job to know how to do this, it's not my place to make recommendations. I would rather be stuck with a 1017 error and not be able to play for a few days than watch a fix implemented that could potentially (automatically) begin booting people at random because it was not tested properly.

It's annoying.
It's costing potential subscriptions.

the cost analysis of time lost vs. amount paid.... I'll skip a cup of coffee tomorrow and be back ahead of the loss.

I've seen this work well on other MMOs like Star Trek Online.

This feature is needed.
