    ETA on Restrictions

Can't post in General Discussion for some reason. Apparently my character's level isn't high enough(which is doubly ironic considering I can't even log in to fix that problem).

I have to ask both SE and the community though, can we just get an ETA on when the restrictions are expected to lift? It seems to me that people are less pissed about the restrictions themselves than they are about the complete lack of communication about when they can play. If SE came out RIGHT NOW and said "Character creation and login restrictions are in place, we expect them to be lifted by 18:00 EST on Thursday. Until then you may have trouble logging in or creating new characters on highly populated worlds. This ETA is subject to change based on unforeseen circumstances." would everyone feel a whole lot better?

If I can't play due to technical issues, fine. But at least tell me when I can reasonably expect to play without issue. I - as I expect are MANY people here - am extremely busy and maybe have 4-5 hours of "free time" a day to get through any errands as well as spend some leisure time. I can't afford to spend it clicking a refresh button in the hopes I might get 15 minutes in before I have to be in bed to get up for work in the morning. I may end up not trying anymore, forget about the game, and move on. If my ETA is Thursday, I'll plan other things to do until Thursday, and check back then. Saying "sorry" gets old after the first 10 times when it appears that absolutely nothing is being done to fix the problem. I'm sure that something is, but without communication, the perception is there that it isn't.

I know no one from SE will read this, or respond to it, but WoW has survived for so long on an old formula and MASSIVE technical f*ck-ups because their CM team is absolutely stellar compared to other companies. There is constant communication on the forums, and decent customer service(though sometimes slow) through their website. When the servers go down for any reason, there's usually a post every hour or so updating people on the status. We are getting nothing on either end of that spectrum right now. CMs are not Devs, they are the company's mouthpiece, so there's no reason for none to be on here quelling the bubbling riots. If your CMs ARE your Devs, then I really can't speak for your management skills.

tl;dr Status Updates pl0x and an ETA for a resolution on restrictions!

Acknowledge there is a problem and propose solutions to those problems. Don't just let the player base hang there fighting amongst themselves because there is no SE representative to speak to the issues in the game.

Add queues, kick afkers and fix the problems that DC people and throws them out after a few minutes of play time would be a good start. Offering free character transfers so people can join their friends or consolidate all the alts they had to roll when they were locked out of their servers do to login restrictions.

Leaving people in a void of no information will very quickly frustrate people, make them feel utterly dismissed and lead them to fill in what they don't know with the worst imaginable scenarios. Sharing a little information shows people you care, lets them know that you are doing something to try to fix the problem and leaves them feeling like things may be okay in the end.

Oh...and remember, people are paying to play the game so they are your customers. If you want to them to remain your customers, you really should treat them like they matter.

I did not pay to WAIT to play the game. I paid to PLAY.
