Repair gear ?

Is it possible to repair another persons gear like in FINAL FANTASY XIV 1.0 ? I can't seem to find a way to do this. For an MMO, they want us to play together and work together, but they wont even let us repair our friends gear ? I don't understand.

Look at the piece of gear and it tells you what class is required to repair it. Look under Crafting and repair section of the specific piece of gear and it will say repair level and tell you what is required to repair it. For example most of my gear the repair level says "Weaver lvl. 5" with just means it would require at least a level 5 weaver to repair my clothes unless i felt like spending money to fix it. Or i can just join the weaver guild myself and once i get lvl 5 be able to repair it.

Yes, I'm quite aware on how to repair my own gear. What I'm talking about is repairing other players gear. Did they take that away ?

*sigh* you didn't comprehend what I just wrote right? In other words, gear that I AM WEARING if i go find another player who is a lvl 5 weaver he can repair my gear for me....If you want to repair someone elses gear you need to make sure you have the proper level crafting class levelled for the other players gear he needs repaired...

Yes, I had a level 50 Weaver try to repair my Felt crafting set. But neither of us could figure out how to repair.

Ahh then that negates everything I thought i knew huh? *hits himself for lack of understanding* Hmm...i'm assuming you did trade him your gear so he could put it in his inventory and repair it as if it's his own gear then give it back to you or is that not possible?

You cant trade gear that is not 100% durability to another player in other words. You must repair the gear to 100% to trade it. Which of course, defeats the purpose.

I think what Shadow is wondering is what are the actual mechanics of doing this. I've been trying to repair his gear as I always have (1.0) but we've clicked on every thing we can think to do and can't find how to do it. I have the appropriate dark matter in my inventory and appropriate level of crafting for his level of gear, but HOW to DO it exactly is a mystery. Anyone??
Btw, I did try the "repair" skill in my crafting which only opens a window to repair my stuff. I've also tried just right clicking on him, but there's no option for his repairs. I also did an "examine" him, to see if I could click on his gear, but nothing. This is soo silly...why can't we still repair each other's gear, SE? Or am I just missing something?
