Character recreation?

I'm curious about this... Might a character that already went through a change still be eligible to redo it? While my first character went through it just fine my second one suddenly timed out just as I finished and had everything finalized just the way I wanted. If I recall it was due to server connectivity, the server for Balmung went down during Early Access and it kicked me from the game. So I was forced to redo all my changes (Not the same way as I had hoped because of the time-out.) so I'm hoping I might be given another chance to recreate this character, touch up the appearances or just change his name to what I originally wanted to use. I couldn't pull up the template I had created in the Benchmark for him so it was all by hand both times. The same issue occurred for my first character but fortunately for her the changes were small and I'm fairly happy how they turned out.

All I want to do for the second is maybe chance a few features and his name since I did a gender change from the original character in 1.0. Oh and speaking of that since we're on the topic of character creation, when will we get the ability to exchange our gender-specific equipment for something usable by the new character? I'm stuck with a Yukata and Cascadier Suits I can't use because they're meant for a female.

The annoying thing is people are putting tickets in for minor,not major issues like this and clogging up the service for people with major problems like not been able to register codes and therefore not able to play,etc. Let the initial launch get sorted and see what happens with this issue then, after first month of sub you get a free character creation anyway.

you can't blame players for submitting tickets when they have problems. blame SE for not having the customer service to respond to all of them.

What about starting city?

I wasn't prompted to change my class while importing, so I never saw that class and city are linked. I finished my visual changes and clicked next, not realizing I wouldn't get a choice to choose the city.

A lot of people made the same mistake, and it can't be undone. Yes, the stories come together later on, but we want our 1.0 characters to be from a specific city, and we want to experience those quests as our character. We can't just make a new character, since so much is tied to our 1.0 characters.

Most people in that thread wouldn't mind being reset to their 1.0 backup and losing all 2.0 progress to fix their mistakes.
I haven't even been playing on my 1.0 character. :/ Made a new one to pass time. Crossing my fingers for a chance to reset.

Nope, they know who didn't get the data and you'll get it automatically if you were affected by the bug.

Since when has there ever being a mmo launch that has had the customer service able to cope with the first month of launch, it doesn't happen. So yes people should be abit more sensible and less selfish so that people with major issues can get things sorted. plus like I said before everyone gets a character creation reset once you get your first month sub underway so no need to ticket, just be patient.

How would they know? It was a client-side issue.

When we logged in we were asked to change our characters, if we didn't want to change anything we'd just continue on with the old appearance it loaded (our old characters) and moved on.
There was no option to import any other data from the benchmark, which a lot of us had put time into perfecting our characters we wanted to use for ARR. As SOON as you logged in the data was locked, whether it was a new and or same appearance.

Only 1.0 characters are affected by this issue, therefore only 1.0 players will receive a Phial of Fantasia. Easy.
Each character is marked as being a 'Legacy' (Legacy in this case meaning any 1.0 imported characters) and 'Non-Legacy.'

They say that you will not be able to use the same name...does this mean both names identical, or neither name can match that of the old name? What if you simply want to change only your last or your first name?

Sent in a support email as that form was for name changes only. I've been trying to hold out for the Veteran rewards phial but they keep increasing the free trial .
