Lot of this stuff was in the digital manual in the Beta forums, unsure why they never ported over the whole thing. I'd have to retype some of it for these forums but I hunted around for what I could find. For now: Patched in commands (link because the pic is kinda tall). Off to work for now, but I'll try to retype the other stuff when I get back.

EDIT: actually, looks like they do have the commands in the manual: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...de/win/manual/

In a typical boss fight with a lot of AoE, keeping one hand on a mouse and one hand on the movement keys (for quick escape) limits how many keys we can reach AND have a reasonable expectation of getting out of AoE, hence the need for macros.

What I have used in other games was a command to reset a macro based on time ex. /macrotimer 20 (resets the macro after 20 seconds), a reset command, and a keypress command to step through the macro. So for a three step combo would look like:

/macrotimer <time> (set to time that the combo resets)
    /ac "Skill 1" <t>
/wait (macro waits for the macro button to be pressed again)
    /ac "Skill 2" <t>
    /wait
    /ac "Skill 3" <t>
/macroreset (resets macro so you don't have to wait for the timer to expire)

Which keys do you use for movement? I haven't played a lot of MMOs, but I use ESDF instead of WASD and I'm really happy with it. I don't believe I've ever stood in something because I couldn't get to a button in time. And if I remember correctly, as a default setting, holding down both mouse buttons makes you run, as another option.

Also, do you strafe instead of turning?

I use wsad for movement, and always use strafing. My right mouse button might as well be taped down. Holding down both mouse buttons is fine if the edge of the AoE is right in front of you which is rare on bosses (easier and quicker to strafe out).

Having the ability to do that would let us hit the macro, get in the swings we can before we have to move, and then get back to the mob and finish off the macro. It would be a DPS boost since no macro steps would be wasted and it allows for quick movement out of AoE's since you can combine skills into fewer buttons and be ready on movement keys.
