It's not possible because the account system was not set up to allow it, it would be an easy thing to program into the account system but the question will be if they are willing to do it or not. And yeah, they will probably done one of those things, as soon as the Customer Support stops being flooded by people complaining about the 1017 issue. What's really annoying is they haven't stated WHY it's not possible. I just don't see how they can't add a simple code onto my account. It's not even like I get a free copy of the game, I didn't buy 1.0 I only played on a free trial.
Whenever support gets back to me I figure I'll give them these options: Either they somehow add my CE code to my account, or I create a new account with the code and they transfer my character and my Crysta over.
Those seem fair right?
still on hold, been on hold for an hour and a half...
Even if they don't want to devote any developer time to allow the adding of full retail keys, they should still do something for those of us who are getting screwed here, other than just saying 'Oh, the solution is to give us another $20.'It's not possible because the account system was not set up to allow it, it would be an easy thing to program into the account system but the question will be if they are willing to do it or not. Especially those of us who ended up with 2 service accounts while trying to add the CE code, because their site was not very clear (An issue they KNOW was a problem, given that they changed their website)... their answer so far has been "Try to get a refund." but anyone here knows... stores aren't going to be willing in most cases to give you a refund for an open game, or a digital product code.
not to mention those that purchased through their online site. as they have stated they dont accept refunds...Even if they don't want to devote any developer time to allow the adding of full retail keys, they should still do something for those of us who are getting screwed here, other than just saying 'Oh, the solution is to give us another $20.'

That's even MORE galling... at least I can try and get Amazon to work with me. They're usually pretty good about protecting their customers.
This is NOT the right way to treat your 1.0 players...
