the issue is, that people are reporting 1017 to customer support. which is something they should NOT be doing. considering they have already posted their solution to this. people are ignoring it and still posting on the tech support forum for issues as well as threads that dont belong here, and should be in general discussion. all of this is flooding their phone support, ticket system, and forums, while pushing all the real issues under all the spam from them. so we just need to keep this thread as active as we can to keep it on first page
agreed on the class action thing. Hardly likely to be able to build a strong enough case for a class action against a company with it's own legal department. especially since they're working to do everything they can to resolve any issues.
:/ would just be nice for a rep to say something on the issue, even if it's 'we have passed this along to the accounts team'.
im sure someone could sue over some kind of false advertisement, or something of the sort. they may try to say they stated against the issue, when if they have it was no where for anyone to see, not on the product page. if it is there now it has just been recently added.
there have been crazier lawsuits that won before, but i doubt anyone here that is having this issue is someone that can afford a good lawyer xD

nope, so far the only reply we have gotten is that this is how it was meant to be and that we should have verified prior to purchase if we could.
I did, back in June I contacted customer support to ask if 1.0 accounts could have an issue like this and got a reply that it would not be an issue.
There is a case of negligence and bad communication at least, bordering on false advertising.
Well then that was my bad, you need to show them that email if you still have it. But I still think that they will be more willing to help when all the server issues are sorted out and they can actually look through customer service requests carefully. And I think talking juristic action is overblown right now... I can live without my Coeurl mount for a while as they deal with server issues ;P
Yeah, Yoshi made a post that they will likely extend free trial time after servers get upgraded and installed. After that I would try to contact SE again and see what they say.
Sorry guys.. I caved in and bought the upgrade. I recommend you all do the same, it's at least better than trying to deal with Square Enix's joke of a help desk.. I just sold my CE key on ebay for 50$ and bought the digital upgrade with 30$ to spare. Seems like the best solution to this problem for now...
