How do I add PS3 CE code to my account?

I've got a 1.0 legacy account at the moment. I bought the PS3 physical CE and I'm trying to add it to my legacy account.


I tried doing this through the mog station under 'add platform' but I keep getting this message

To add the PlayStation®3 platform to this service account, you must first either purchase the digital download, or apply a registration code through the Sony Entertainment Network.
Please note that PlayStation®3 services are not accessible through this website.
Upon completing registration, the game can be installed and played as normal on your PlayStation®3.

It shows my service account and a 'back' button. I tried to register it through the PS3 network as well but they only have a redeem section for a 12 digit code.

You need to register the 12 digit code that came with your game into the redeem code function of the PSN Store, then place the disc in the machine and start the game up. You'll go through a process similar to the pre-order process where you agree to terms again and confirm that you're adding that code's features to your pre-existing service account.

(Make ABSOLUTELY sure you do not select to start a new service account, unless you're wanting to start over from scratch and lose any progress and characters you've made)
