Has any 1.0 account purchased physical 2.0 and am able to upgrade?

I haven't gotten my box yet, but someone said a while back that a 1.0 account wont be able to "upgrade" using the physical CE. Is this true? Has anyone done this? And if so, how did you apply the codes in the Mog Station?

SE stated that 1.0 Standard accounts could upgrade to CE by purchasing the $20 CE digital upgrade to be made available sometime after the game launches, (No, haven't seen it yet) or purchase the PlayStation 3 CE and apply the registration code to your 1.0 PC service account.

That seems really odd. So if I wanted to get the physical items, I would of had to buy a PS3 (which I don't own) CE copy and apply that to my account to get the CE in-game items? What? Or use the digital upgrade option and forgo the physical items? I think that is what you said.

You cannot upgrade your 1.0 account with a CE Physical code. The items in the CE Physical code is connected to the actual game reg code aka brand new account. You can upgrade your 1.0 account to a CE via your Account settings however.

I have the same problem, 1.0 legacy account and can't enter ARR physical CE PC code to upgrade it to CE, so there is no way to do it, not even asking SE support to merge them?
Cause it seems to me that it is kind of silly if you excuse me the expression :/

I am so pissed about this. I was already pissed I had to buy pre-order to just to get early access b/c I'm not legacy. We bought 1.0, we bought Realm Reborn CE to get the items and pre-order items and now they expect us to upgrade to CE? How about you shaft 1.0 players a little more. They apparently want us to buy the game 2.5 times. So stupid... please stop screwing over 1.0 players.

I had the 1.0 version. I was able to go to MogStation and buy the CE upgrade for $20, logged on and got my items. Was no problem at all.

This is for the players that bought the digital/physical collector's edition while already owning 1.0. So, maybe a 1.0 player bought the physical version for the items OR in my case I bought the digital version so I could get the pre-order items/early access and CE items. The problem is you can't link the CE code with an existing 1.0 account. Customer support is saying we have to do what you did, which means we bought 2 collector editions essentially.

You have to digitally upgrade, should have researched a bit before buying
