30002 Server Disconnect Error: FIXED FOR ME

I was being DCd constantly. Within 2 minutes of logging in, during leaves, during behests and ODDLY around 11PM every night. Getting the dreaded 30002 an error occurred on the server message. I posted multiple messages to the bugs/tech support forums and tried every possible fix i found out in the web world. Turned off this service, that service, upgraded firmware... so on and so on. NOTHING WORKED!

    Until now

In a last ditch effort I decided to upgrade my wireless G router. I went out a dropped $140 on the best NETGEAR N Router I could find at Best Buy and ever since then... not one... single... drop.

    To add...
I went from 2% packet loss to 0% packet loss (pingtest.net) <-- maybe this is the key
I have full windows firewall running.
I have full virus scan running.
I have not disabled a single service.
    I am playing over wireless.
I am running in windowed mode.
I am playing on a laptop.

Been running stable with 0 DCs for the last week. And I assure you... I was DCing 3 times a night, so the likelihood of this being a fluke is low.

Hope this helps someone else out in 30002 land... cuz I was very close to dropping this game... perhaps this will walk YOU back from the edge as well.

    -cheers

Ya this is a issue for many players and they just give up and quit "saying SE cant't do anything right forget this game"

So opening your port did not help you not lose packet lost?

Well... between FFXI and LOTRO, i have to admit that I never had DCd so frequently. In fact... I don't think I ever DCd with LOTRO.

Default install of ffxiv client and router. No tweaks to ports required.

After swapping out my linksys wrt54g2 for this NETGEAR WNDR37AV (gaming) router my packet loss dropped from 2% to 0. I really think the issue is the quality of your router/gateway/modem.

I write client/server socket applications from time to time and if you don't handle these sorts of issues manually... software craps out. It appears that the client/server doesn't have any real tolerance for packet loss.

Ya unlike FFXI The Client have no tolerance for packet loss i think this is due to programing Error. I hope SE fix this by PS3 release or they wont have any PC users left.

The weird problem is Tho, Me and my gf play on the same Modem and she D/c with a 30002 Error and i don't. Then 1-2hours later i may get the Error but this was before Dec/Nov patch every sense the big patch of nov/dec i don't ever D/c with 30002 error it very rare for me to D/c like that.
