Can't upgrade a standard account to Digital CE with a new code?

Hey all,

I have a standard account at the moment, which I have had since 1.0. I purchased the Digital Collectors Edition from the SE EU Store and just got my product code emailed to me. However, I have tried to put the CE Code onto my already existing account (essentially a digital upgrade) but it just says that the code is "Invalid" no matter where I put it.

So I'm guessing that a new code can't be applied to an already existing account? Can anyone here confirm this (Mod/Dev) and has anyone else had the same issue?

*The only way around it is to register it as a new service account, but I have already leveled my character, moved server due to pop. issues and leveled another one so I really just want to upgrade ^^;;

Yes, a lot of people have this problem. From what I understand SE did not implement a way to upgrade a windows account to CE except through purchasing the digital upgrade. Hopefully, SE will do something about this because it shouldn't be hard to use codes as an upgrade instead of a new account.
