Login Restriction: how long will this go on

I love you all SE, and FFXIV is awesome (when you get to play). I believe I've been among the more patient players. I understand the reason for the login restrictions, and I've read your letters. I get it, but seriously- how long will this last? Developers- while these login restrictions are in place, can you please find a way to make sure eveyone trying to login can at least get on a queue. Once in awhile it will pop up. I want to login in and stay in that queue while I wait to get in. At least this way it'll feel like, 'I'll get in eventually.' I don't care if it says I'm #1000+ .. At least I can see that I will be let in. Constantly having to sign in, get booted, sign in.. though I've been patient is really starting to get frustrating. How are the worlds full already. Whatever the reason, implement some controls to relieve the frustrations of those of us who are not able to get in. I got to play yesterday, which was cool, but it was more than likely cause I logged in at 5am. I can't do that every morning.

Additionally- Implement an system to boot people who are AFK/ or inactive for at least 1hr or more. There's people who know we have these restrictions, and yet they blatantly post in 'shout' mode for all to read 'I'm never logging off' - or 'I've been AFK all day'. They are just sitting on the server so they don't lose their spot, meanwhile, people who do want to actually get on and play, are barred-out. It's not fair. Talking to these selfish individuals won't change their mind. The game needs to implement controls to protect the rest of us. Establish an AFK boot system. Don't let people just sit there idle for hours on end while we're in a login in restriction.

Please take more actions towards this, and let us know some solid detail on why the worlds are full already, and when you play to fix this, so we can lax on these login restrictions.

Like I said, I love you guys, but I'm really starting to have this frustration kick in. You said you know 'nobody likes having to wait to log in, but hope you understand why it's like this' - we understand but at least get us on queue, so we can see progress on being able to get in, and boot inactive players (inactive for 1hr or more). I know there's other threads on this, but I'm frustrated and really needed a platform- leading with the 2 fixes for this login restriction problem, that we have been bringing up. I want to get a real answer on if you can do this please.

Right there with you. I'm not even getting frustrated with the lack of a queue (though I think it would be FAR more intelligent then having people have to hit the start button over and over)... I'm just bored of hitting the start button. I already rebound my keys and I can't even spam the numpad 0 key like some can... WTB a wait list that is updated on it's own without having to attempt to log in and get punted back to the start menu or even one that will log you in when a spot opens up would be cool. You can't convince me that a game this good (when logged in lol) can't manage a que/autojoin feature.

This login system u just described is exactly what i want to,see. With a control to to skip people on the list who take too long to respond. I dont even mind the login resttiction itself too much if it stabilizes the server, just let us know we have line ti get in and have our turn n,boot people,just idling.

I'd love to play. But I have other things I need to do besides spending an hour trying to log in without leaving my computer.

If there was a queue, I could get in, do the other stuff I need to do at home, and then that hour could be spent happily. Even if it was sitting in a queue.
I don't even mind having a queue that's several hours. As long as there is one.

Not to mention the fact that you can't switch characters without logging off the server...

On the bright side... the longer this goes on, the less interested I am in playing and the less time I spend trying to log in. The question is... will it be resolved before I get to the point of dropping the game completely?

Slightly increase the population cap, greatly increase the queue cap, implement inactive player logoff. This will make the situation a lot more liveable until the hardware side is settled.
