Barding without Chocobo?

I just got my CE items in the mail, but none of my characters can call a chocobo yet.
Will it do any harm if I select "Use" on the Behemoth Barding before I get one?
I have done this on one of my characters and I'm worried my barding will be lost somewhere in limbo now. O.o

I wouldn't imagine so. I mean, it would still be in your inventory. If that dose happen, you using the item and it doesn't appear in your barding inventory I'm sure SE wouldn't mind helping you out.

I used mines without a chocobo. When you do get one you still have it so its ok to use
