Just drudging this up in case others are in the same boat and wondering. If you bought digitally from the SE Store, it seems that the least inefficient way to fix this is to just ask for a refund and upgrade digitally in the meantime, as their response indicates that it's possible to obtain a refund.

Then again, it might be most prudent to wait to hear from someone who successfully got a refund first... I mean, I've come to expect the unexpected when it comes to SE and their "logic."
