    MP Regen

Please get rid of the current mp regen. As I've read before, in battles like NM people put down their staff until a party member needs to be healed. This lets them regen mp while the rest of the party is attacking. It also makes several skills unuseful... siphon mp, exaltaion, and tranquility... and pretty much spiritbind too. Everybody uses spells with no regard to sp, making mages more of a spam which ya'll are trying to avoid (i.e. 1111112113111 but with spells). Anybody else up for this?

They probably have to strike a balance of some sort. Back in the beta, thats all most mages complained about, MP regen. Of course, that was back when you had to do a ton of actions in a party to get decent SP...

I dont think auto regen of MP (like rest in XI) is a bad thing in itself, since MP recovery skills should be used to quickly regain magic during a really hard battle/series of battles where time is of the essence.

It's just no one has regards for mp use, and that's how it should be

What is the difference between MP regen and resting in FFXI. I like that I don't have to kneel to restore mp.

I don't think you've ever been in an NM fight then. I throw out heals to damage my hp so I can Shadowsear. Then Siphon TP to use Flashfreeze, then Siphon Mp to regain some lost MP. Sometime though rarely I use tranquility/exaltation. So the usefulness is still there.

And what does it matter if we spam DD, or heals? Melee spam attacks all the time. If we die it's our faults for not learning to make sure we don't die.

I dunno, the MP Regen is slow enough that I'm ok with it.

Why bring up XI.. I wasn't even talking about that. I never had a problem managing my mp, especially when i got siphon mp. This just gives us no regards to mp management. That's what I'm saying

The reason I brought up FFXI because it's similar to what you said. When mages run out of mp to cure they would kneel and hope to god the tanks would last long enough to recover some mp. It's just alittle differnt in this game because you just have to put away your weapon. If the tank is dying you can just cast, versus' getting up then hitting a spell.

As for mp management, when some get owned in the face for spamming cures or DD, hopefully when they get killed they'll learn to slow down.

Think about this... once the ancient magics are useful... they use A TON of SP... so an MP regen at that point would be more pertinent and needed
At 100 mp per cast, an MP regen looks really good at that point

Just add a dumb refresh spell and take away the auto MP.

Not the point I'm getting at is that it wasn't really needed. Siphon MP will give you tons of mp if you use it after every battle, especially when you have exaltation and tranquility
