It's simply a matter of managing expectations. I've been through dozens of MMO launches; the big ones are always like this, and the forums are always raging thusly. And I get it - it is frustrated, and you have a right to expect more since you're investing time and money in this product.

For me, however, I enjoy the game, and I'm willing to suffer through the growing pains, as I have with other MMOs. I do wish they would add a legitimate login queue; asking players to repeatedly ping the server with login requests isn't good for the customer, and it isn't good for the infrastructure either.

Constant ping spam is not only bad for the infrastracture...its a deterrant to the playerbase.

MANY people are leaving in masses because of this. a qeue would be tolerable. waiting an hour to play is fine. knowing that i have no chance to play unless i spam for an hour...for the chance to MAYBE play? not so much.

Furthermore...people are now pissed because they can't play with friends.

I've been at the launch of almost every major mmo in the last decade. all have ups and down. this is likely the most problematic...because it is hurting the longevity of the game. people are leaving! lots of people! thats a problem for a game that is subscription based.

its a shame because as far as the game goes...its fricking solid! a great great game with lots of potential...

I have been around sense early Ever Quest and been through one launch after another but none of them have ever had a working game and gated off at least half of there player base. The game runs great if you can get in and play but to gate off people from playing isn't right. That is why I won't sub till the server situation is fixed.

I still have my copy plastic wrapped because I can't create a character on the server with all of my friends are on.

I don't plan to play or sub until I can.

I'm subscribing because I really enjoy what I've managed to play so far. I do understand why others wouldn't subscribe, though.

My friends were already scattered across various servers before the caps were in place, so I knew from the start I'd be playing without most of them. I originally rolled up on Balmung, but after hitting the same, frustrating caps on the NA/EU servers as everyone else, I made a character over on the JP group. I've been playing there without any trouble at all. If I find a good FC, I'll probably just stay put. If not, I'll migrate once they open up character transfers and stabilize the NA/EU servers.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying the game and able to play without any issues (knock on wood). I'm on the free month of play right now, but if I start having login issues when it comes time to subscribe, I absolutely won't do so. It'd be nonsense to pay for a game I can't even play.

Its easy to get in went people are at work and school try telling me you get in a few hours from now. Oh wait your already in and your just going to afk so you don't have to try and get back in if you need to leave right?

I've been playing fine Saturday, Sunday, Monday and today.

I don't AFK.. I log in during peak hours, I sometime even log off just to go eat dinner, then play the "lottery"(If this is lottery, I should go buy tons of tickets.. I'd be a billionaire in no time) for barely 10-15minutes to get in...

Don't come telling me that you have no patience, I have none either, but this doesn't require patience at all...

This hasn't been happening on EVERY NA/EU server, only most of them, but not ALL. I know I haven't been able to get in since Sunday after the first maintenance. I tried a lot, and once i did get in, I was getting booted back out again within minutes. I love the game, and i have created a new char on a JP server, but i would much rather be on an NA server, plus I have all that time spent on B4 and a full saturday of EA on my already existing character. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when i get home tonight...I've been dwelling on it all day.

What did you do between B4 and EA?

Just do the same.

There's tons of games that came out recently.. some random games that can be quite fun. Just download some of them and try from time to time to get in the server
