I've been enjoying this game thoroughly and hope to see it thrive. But if 1017 keeps happening, I don't understand how SE expects the average gamer to go ahead and subscribe to something they paid for, yet can't even log in to.

I still have my copy plastic wrapped because I can't create a character on the server with all of my friends are on.

Well lets see; um, because I love the game. And I intend on sticking around to see what they add to it, yes I have had trouble playing during EA. So what, its a great game. And a lot of fun to play, thats why I'm subing.

Got to play very little with 1017 and most ppl that get in are just not logging out so they won't have to wait later making it even worse. Hubby and I opened the game at the same time last night....he got in with 2 tries I was spamming for almost an hour....so those that are getting in and saying "I don;t know what you guys are complaining about." it is not the same for everyone!

Just have to wait, i don't mind waiting as i have other games to play aswell. The little money i paid for all 80 days of sub feels like a robbery xD I don't mind waiting, they will get the issues solved sooner or later, the problem right now is that there is no auto-boot option in the game that kicks AFK people.

NO auto-boot and 1017 happening without there being a queue those are the biggest issues atm. Besides those 2 problems there's little to complain about. Except maybe the horrid lip syncing when you are using english voice overs, I am unsure wether or not the problem persists when you are using japanese voice overs.
I'm loving the story, the combat while not the best thing since sliced bread is effective and really fun in groups. The crafting is really enjoyable, and the higher your level gets the more complex it becomes.

The veteran rewards will always be there no matter if you pay now or 6 months from now as long as you sub so I still see no point in subing right now. I see to many people white knighting this game its sickening any other company they would of been hanged by all other news sites by now.

It's simply a matter of managing expectations. I've been through dozens of MMO launches; the big ones are always like this, and the forums are always raging thusly. And I get it - it is frustrated, and you have a right to expect more since you're investing time and money in this product.

For me, however, I enjoy the game, and I'm willing to suffer through the growing pains, as I have with other MMOs. I do wish they would add a legitimate login queue; asking players to repeatedly ping the server with login requests isn't good for the customer, and it isn't good for the infrastructure either.

Constant ping spam is not only bad for the infrastracture...its a deterrant to the playerbase.

MANY people are leaving in masses because of this. a qeue would be tolerable. waiting an hour to play is fine. knowing that i have no chance to play unless i spam for an hour...for the chance to MAYBE play? not so much.

Furthermore...people are now pissed because they can't play with friends.

I've been at the launch of almost every major mmo in the last decade. all have ups and down. this is likely the most problematic...because it is hurting the longevity of the game. people are leaving! lots of people! thats a problem for a game that is subscription based.

its a shame because as far as the game goes...its fricking solid! a great great game with lots of potential...
