Locked World Question

Hi,

A friend of mine is trying to make a character on Cereberus (EU). He constantly gets a message saying that this world does not allow for any new character creations. In the latest Follow up: "[Follow-up] Regarding Character Creation and Login Restrictions (Aug. 27): Follow-up 3" Cereberus (EU) is not listed.

So how come he gets a message saying that this world does not allow for new character creations?

If the world is indeed locked and I missed this message somewhere, will it be opened any time soon?

idk... but this is pretty much bs.. I convinced 6 of my friends to buy this game, and none of them can play with me, and if I want to play with them I am forced to rerol. So basically I am penalized because I pre ordered the game. Two of my friends are already trying to get refunds, and the other 4 are starting to talk about getting refunds, and all are mad at me for telling them this game was going to be awesome.

Extremely frustrated.

Well, to be fair, the game is pretty fun to play. However all the issues people have been having so far are pretty shitty for an MMO in 2013. They didn't even start from scratch with this game either, so I don't know how the early launch has been so awful. Can't even log in right now because apparently my world is somehow full.

I have the opposite problem I have about 5 friends who are playing on Excalibur and have been leveling up and I am the only one of our group who can't make a player on that server. This is frustrating because I can't ask them all to reroll just for me.

My entire guild of 30-40ish is waiting on me and two others to get into Tonberry(never opened since EA start) >_>
By the time we finally get it they'll all have 50s, but ah well.
Excalibur actually opens up at fairly often during NA off peak(earlier yesterday it was just gilga,levia and moogle locked), so just check back whenever you aren't doing anything much.
(Been basically monitoring both sides servers since launch, so I do have some idea).

Now they added Cerberus in closed server list. Ridiculous for new players as there is pretty much only JP servers available. Not a single EU server available anymore.

Hoping this gets resolved fast so my friends can join same server.

I AM patient and by no means a whiner...and i get that this is launch.

But my entire group of friends that didnt get into beta...can't play on my server. a few have made chars and japanese servers and dont wanna start over. others are just pissed they can't play a game they paid for.

despite how much i personally enjoy the game...if i can't play with my friends...there is no point. SE better act fast....

I believe what is going on is that they're limiting how many people can join a server before launch. Most likely so there's plenty of room at launch for people to join whatever server they'd like. Maybe that's too logical though, they could just be screwing things up.

well...I hate to complain but this is beyond ridiculous. worst shit I've seen in the last decade of mmos.

1. cold day in hell if I get to log into the game and actually play it. if log out to go eat for an hour. no chance at getting back in, forget it.
2. even colder day if I got to play with friends on same server.
3. its complete garbage that a company will not upgrade its hardware.
4. even worse that the solution they come up with for high server population is to just not let people play the game.

sure as hell not subbing after 30 free days, they owe me bout 4 days as it is now lol. this has, of course nothing to do with the fact im not paying for the gametime atm. its purely on principle.

haven't gotten to enjoy 1 full day of playing the game since EA started, at all. log in get a few lvls...server crash...server full...cant log in for 3 hrs....bedtime. rinse, wash, repeat.
