Well considering we now have the ability to obtain relic +1, it's no surprise the quest is easier. I even remember Yoshi saying it would be. Also granted a lot of end-game weapons are just as strong/stronger than base relic weapon are. It may be more involved to get it, but I think that's a fair trade-off. Relic weapons should require some effort to obtain.
