I agree to this, not for myself but for the many many people who will fall into this category and to help server load balance.

Yes. Most of us looking on the threads have gotten on at some point and enjoy what we did do. The people that can't get on at all are the ones that never visit the forums because they have already given up. We need to get the devs attention on this matter before we lose too many people.

To be honest the way i've been getting on is to sit for about 10 minutes constantly hitting start/character select/error code server is full, then repeating the cycle over...and over..and over until it finally lets me in and i get a few hours of playtime lol. However....If i weren't such a patient person i wouldn't tolerate it and honestly I don't think other people should be forced to do that just to play a freakin online game, the amount of time spent on a weekend trying to log on could be better spent at the beach or a bar or a rave where you can dress up as your character, get high, and just imagine you are in Eorzea with your friends in real life haha.

We're 3 friends who pre-ordered and started on same world together, which makes us lucky on that point atleast.
Still we don't get to play together though, cause by the time in the afternoon they are getting on, so are everybody else, and the servers are full, and the q-system isn't even on so we have an inkling about when we will get to game.
It really is frustrating...

Please SE, add more servers!

More servers are not the answer. Larger servers with much larger capacity are the answer. Which is what they are doing. They are over the next 3-4 days they are trying to upgrade the server to hold more people. However, this doesn't fix the scattered players issue.

Honestly, there should be free server transfers because this IS their fault. But I would probably pay if it was a paid service because I am in almost the exact same scenario as you. MUH FRANDS NEED ME!

Yes. I'm not blaming them though. They had no idea soooo any people would want to try their game. They got overwhelmed. However, it is their fault and they should allow us to move servers.

My 1.0 is on hyperion. Hubby and I rolled new on another server but friends from FFXI who didn't 1.0 rolled excalibur and there is no getting on there. So we keep playing on cactuar when we can...which is almost never and hope we can get together sometime.

they need to do this but they also need someway to show how crowded a server is, i would have started in a different server if there was any interface indication on what servers were still empty or not as crowded as gilgamesh >.<
