[Dev Help Please] Character Transfers Early

Even if they can't implement it right now, I'd like to get an assurance there will be at least one wave of free transfers(to low pop servers only maybe,if necessary, but it will at least let groups of friends/fcs move together).

The problem is even the low pop servers are full. I'm on Lamia, one of the last (of 3) servers you could create characters on and we're getting 1017'd just as much as everyone else.

They need to add more worlds and unfortunately with the recent announcement, it doesn't look like that's happening until early next week. They have just as many servers servicing NA/EU as they do servicing just Japan, which is why they didn't experience any major issues until just today.

I too am hoping that once their datacenter expansion happens, they offer world transfers. I'd like to get on Ultros where my beta character and friends are

Then your doing something wrong, brother got onto my server no problems at around midday today and all the other EU servers minus the legacy one were available to play on.

Also if your below lvl20 just move to another server with your friends make a new character, I would rather do that then lose the friends that wish to play with you then keep a relatively new character.

Not if she's been trying to get onto Moogle. Excalibur has also been pretty packed. I've been refreshing for three days and certain servers just haven't been opening often or at all. Moogle, Gilg, Levi for instance.

With the upgrades they are planning, the server transfers will work fine. However my friends will be gone by then. I need to move now. I would be willing to pay if they would just let me.

Servers were packed the entire weekend, and people with daytime jobs can't logon midday........

Yes. Most of us looking on the threads have gotten on at some point and enjoy what we did do. The people that can't get on at all are the ones that never visit the forums because they have already given up. We need to get the devs attention on this matter before we lose too many people.

To be honest the way i've been getting on is to sit for about 10 minutes constantly hitting start/character select/error code server is full, then repeating the cycle over...and over..and over until it finally lets me in and i get a few hours of playtime lol. However....If i weren't such a patient person i wouldn't tolerate it and honestly I don't think other people should be forced to do that just to play a freakin online game, the amount of time spent on a weekend trying to log on could be better spent at the beach or a bar or a rave where you can dress up as your character, get high, and just imagine you are in Eorzea with your friends in real life haha.

We're 3 friends who pre-ordered and started on same world together, which makes us lucky on that point atleast.
Still we don't get to play together though, cause by the time in the afternoon they are getting on, so are everybody else, and the servers are full, and the q-system isn't even on so we have an inkling about when we will get to game.
It really is frustrating...

More servers are not the answer. Larger servers with much larger capacity are the answer. Which is what they are doing. They are over the next 3-4 days they are trying to upgrade the server to hold more people. However, this doesn't fix the scattered players issue.
