A different Collectors Edition Problem

Thanks ahead of time for your help. I think I know the answer, but wanted to see if anyone knew, since I don't want to call tech support if I can avoid it (and add longer queue times to people with actual problems).

Here is the issue.

I never purchased 1.0. My wife gave me a 7 day free trial that came with her CE, but I never purchased it for myself.

So, since I had never purchased 1.0, and beta of ARR was awesome, I figured I'd preorder the collectors edition. I grabbed the FF14 Digital CE from Square-Enix.

Well, my preorder came in this morning. I have the code and I'm ready to enter it.

When I get to the Mog Station, it shows that I already own the standard version, and there is no way to apply my Collectors Edition. It looks like what I needed to purchase was the collectors edition upgrade, but I'm confused since I never purchased the game in the first place.

Do I need to call tech support to sort this out, or am I missing something?

I think they upgraded all the trials(buddy keys? or something) to actual accounts, might be wrong though, but it sounds like it.

in mog station, there should be some square buttons under where it shows your account status. one of those button is for bonus code, thats where you can enter your code.

Alas, I already tried this, it says my code is invalid. I think it's because I currently have an ARR account, so I can't register another CE account without creating a new service account, which I don't want to do.

That's exactly what it looks like happened. Two, non-legacy, non 1.0 accounts we have, show standard edition with nothing to add a code (which I still have not gotten for my DL CE from SE Digital River)

This button does not exist, even for our two accounts that are non-legacy, non 1.0 accounts. There's an Add-Platform button, but that just creates a new Account, their account system is needlessly complicated.
