I think it's because you attacked the situation with a aggressive feeling to all your posts-rather then a calm and collected reaction. You literally painted a target on yourself Sir.

At the OP and the others in this thread-I sincerely say that SE is messing up and is severely hampering their player populace. The fact that someone makes a generalized and sweeping statement as "Seriously though, they are doing everything they can except spending money on better servers." is jumping to conclusions.

Do we really know if their NOT doing just that? Buying and installing better servers? Or not doing so? If so, it would be good to have that announcement linked with several sources. Hear-say and rumors do nothing for the community.

My deepest condolences go out to the large Clans/Guilds/Unit's who are suffering due to this. And it's also affecting the smaller groups of friends-I've yet to even get one chance to play with my friends on Balmung, Gilgamesh or Behemoth. So we all just rolled on Hades for a bit. Either way, it's frustrating. For all of us.

Their bound to fix it at some point, by either patching up the login problems, giving a proper que-or what have you. I doubt Enix wants this kind of backlash, so jumping to conclusions is a bit over the top. Stay calm, and be patient for now.

A: Mistakes can occur more then once. Some of the best thought out plans or actions go to hell once inacted. They may not have suspected this issue to occur. A slew of reasonings could be applied to this situation. It doesn't change the fact they failed, though there is no reason to not let them fix it and we can get back to playing the game we enjoy.

A: Company's as a whole make mistakes. I'm not praising their action's, nor agreeing with them. It is a big messup on their part. The vitriol and toxicity present with players right now is though rather unwarranted. They FUPPED up, doesn't mean we got to act like a brigade of babbling baboons and fling our dung everywhere. Act like adult's and work on a solution, rather then just acting like mentally challenged mice.

A: That's rather up for debate at this point. They should keep us more informed-but as a manager(Non-related to SE), they probably are freaking out and trying to do damage control on the lower levels. While the leader's are going "Push on" with the project. Maybe the lead's are not that way, and their just not thinking this through. We don't know. And I think that is the main reason why people are SO frustrated. And I sympathize, I'm on the same boat. So are my 10+ friends who have been b*tching at me for day's now.

I want to have some detailed information on WHAT their doing for us, and what they are going to do to fix this issue that keeps popping up. I think a lot of people would cool off once details are released.

I don't exactly understand a lot of the replies to this thread. How is going to other websites going to fix a 1017 login error? Or how is visiting another website going to get you the ability to make a toon on a locked server? The OP has an issue with not being able to play with a very large number of his/her friends. Spouting off go read another forum on another web page is going to get them the exact same info. People can't log in, there is no work around except spam the login button. Server is locked go create another toon else where and do what then? Move 100+ with you and pray they dont lock the server as half of you make it in? Or just work a toon on another server then transfer it over! But wait that's a paid service multiple weeks down the road, I want to play with my friends and family and experience the game together with them... None of your solutions are adding up at all. Go read a book... I've already done that, I'd like to play a game that I paid for with friends who paid for it as well now if you don't mind.

Also, people are forgetting, if the character creation restrictions somehow end up being permanent, how does making a character on another server become beneficial when your FC/guild is on a different server? If "because they will allow server transfers later" is your answer, I'm afraid people will end up being very disappointed. When they implement server transfer in the game, and if they are restricting character creations on certain servers (Let's say Gilgamesh for now), what makes you think they would allow characters to be transferred over to the Gilgamesh when you can't even create a new character there?

I can't play where I want but I wanted to play so I used my head, played somewhere else, read that mid September they plan on releasing world xfer services, see? See how much I knew to do that? Wanna know how I did it? I read what devs post.

Yea world transfer services that are being called an "optional paid service" as of right now. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...ption_service/ I just can't see that as being fair. People aren't choosing to be on different servers than their friends/family/guilds so why should they pay extra to get something they should have the option to do from the beginning?

I'm really hoping that they give a free transfer for the first week or if you made a character by "this" date it's a free 1 time transfer. Otherwise I can't see that working out in their favor.

I'm just annoyed that I have to reroll on a EU server now because my fiance got home late from work and every NA server is now locked. We were both 1.0 CE owners which is why we waited til release. I'm also not on the same server as my old guild but that's not as annoying for me as I can always meet new people.

I'm just hoping for the best. I highly doubt that they would purposely fuck over something that they spent a few years to make right. Especially when they decided not to charge 1.0 players for the "new" game.

*edit 21/25 JP 6/6 EU and 0/19 NA servers are open. It just seems silly that their main population seems to be NA and we have less servers than JP. Seems like JP/EU should have shared and NA had 25+ servers.

**Actually it seems like there are 2 NA servers every 3 mins that keep unlocking then relocking .

I've resorted to playing when I get outta work at 8am EST, and then when I wake up before work I end up playing World of Tanks, rather than mindlessly mash the login button. Would rather play FFXIV as much as possible, but oh well. It's a shame SE doesn't understand the basics of MMO creation, management and PR.

The reason people are coming here to complain is because in every other MMO, we have come to expect that the devs, mods and the rest of the production crew/staff monitors and reads the forums and responds there to the issues. It's unfortunate that SE doesn't follow this model as it leaves it's customer feeling left out and frustrated. As to why we are complaining on the Tech Support forums, it's because they have put a level restriction on the general forums, and for some odd reason most people can't get their characters to that level. Now I wonder why that is? /sarcasm
