Steps:

-Was running up hill along the road
-"fell" through the ground
-became trapped beneath the surface map
-was able to run underneath the surface map to Ul'dah
-could still see NPCs and players in Miner's Guild above
-could not target them (probably out of range)
-ran until error code popped up
-accepted error code and logged off

-logged back on
-still trapped beneath surface

-used Return feature
-returned to Nophica's Wells

-error occured again at Gold Court in Ul'dah
-ran along Ruby Road away from Gold Court below surface
-emerged at 6-3

I would also like to add an additional response to Baccanale's confirmation that we will be investigating this. Should you find yourself stuck in the game geometry like that, you can also submit a GM Call using the in game Support Desk. While 1 Anima to Return is not a lot, we can also assist you with this concern if you did not wish to use it.
