Hi!
First, sorry for my english (Italy here!)
I got a problem with my video card overheating (GTX 275).
The game runs fine (30 fps), but no matter the settings, whenever i'm indoor and with a lot of pc\npc, the gpu suddenly hits 85°C!

That's really hot...
Do you hear any excess whining or anything coming from your case? I know it's a derpy question. Not sure if its hardware failure (Soon to be) or it's just the fact that when in a high-stress environment process it just goes crazy. Or lack of air-flow/cooling.
All clean\no dust and got this problem only with FFXIV.That's really hot...

Tried with minimum graphic settings....no luck. In beta phase everything was fine....
Very weird. Maybe there is a new process that is running in the background that causes an excess of stress on the system. All I can say is just keep trying anything possible in the graphics settings. Flip stuff off and on. Test every combination. Trial and error will be your only friend-unless somebody has gotten this same issue on here and deigns to jump in right about now.
Goodluck to you! Also sending a service ticket into Enix may be a good idea. They may be able to give you more info on why it's going coo-coo.
Will do that! Thanks!
It all depends on how much of your GPU is being used. It sounds like its basically maxing out at 100%.
If that's the case then in order for you to cool down your GPU you're going to need better cooling. If you can add a side case fan to blow on the GPU that could drop the temperature.
But if everything was ok during beta, you might want to upgrade your graphics drivers.
I noticed this as well started after one of their maintenances, suddenly my case fans started roaring and I looked up my temps and my Gpu was sitting at 79°C and was only at maybe 50% load and cpu was maybe 40% on 3 of 8 cores and was running at 29°C there was no need for this, I think it was something ont heir end was making my card overwork it self for no reason, normally i get 40-60 fps and it runs at 50°C at most, so I know it was not the card. Seems to be running al right today, but I am not in same the same area as I was (happened in Gridania) now in Ul'dah with no troubles at all.
In open areas there're no overheating issues.
The problem is in the city, every time i enter the pub or a close area. I think it's related to the presence of groups of pc.
use the Nvidia control panel and manually set your gfx card fan to 100% or download a 3rd party app to give you control over the fan.
Ok, solved the problem (at least for me)!
If i put the shadow setting from 2084 to 1024, no more overheating!
I can bear with that, there's not a real quality drop and i can play safely without worries. Hope it helps!
Anyway, thanks everyone for your support!
P.S: It doesn't work if you put EVERYTHING to minimum, dunno why!
