2, People are running...then stopping for a second, then start running again. I just tested my connection on some other MMO's (WoW, GW2) and im having no problems with them.

hmm...I don't think that is a issue...it is normal, because not everyone playing the game with prefect 50- ping, so most players in FF14 are from all countries. As long you don't lag up to 3 sec when you changing equipment, which means you good already, the lag doesn't effect you, it only effect the players have high ping.

there are 2 different lag.
1. PC lag: If your screen show that your players walking, looking or attacking is not smooth like video played as then it means your PC is lagging, your PC cannot handle the game.
2. Connection lag: Connection lag is there will be delay when you switching your equipment, players around you will blink or chat delay.

So, which one is your lag problem?

i have same problem , but only in prime time

the day when people working in europe , i dont have any problem, micro lag ( connection) for 1 sec max

but then when its prime time, everyone freeze around me for sometimes 40 sec ...

and it end up with error 90000, i get kicked , and cannot come back in game

im using WIFI also, my friend can log out of the game and come back with no problem minus the queue ( but numbered queue)

so i think when there are too many people on server , the worse connection start exploding, and SE put you on a list, or if its not a list, there is the following process :

if connection worse than "x parameter" => world full 1017 and you wont be able to log again before world get emptier

conclusion ( my opinion)

game keep only best connec at prime time
