This is not WoW, it is Final Fantasy, there are different expectations from this community. What's with people and the need to tell everyone they're ashamed of their Community based on the Rage that is currently going on.
Here are 2 facts
1. Every Gaming Community reacts the same.and if there is a smooth Start, there will Be something else to bitch about.
2. You don't have to read these boards if the mere sight of a bitch/hate/disappointed thread grinds you gears.
Either deal with it or do something Else with your free time, easy as that
yeah I remember FFXI's community. Very seldom would I not get help from someone if I didn't know something in game and was confused. Even in game people are just bashing one another in shouts when someone asks a question. I've blacklisted alot of people in game due to the fact I don't want their negativity around me. If someone asks about something either respond with the answer to the best of your knowledge or just ignore the question. No need for "Quit being a crybaby and just walk north you spoon fed whiner" that's a quote from today when I asked what was next after my completed quest because on the right of my screen was not the usual "click here and the location will be shown" quest text. I've never shown malice to someone in game until that moment.

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

I think Mr.Happy would beg to differ with you over your opinion of the current issues in the game. The last FFXIV Reborn he was in with on xiivnation/gamebreaker he wasn't all to pleased with the current issues. Along with one other host of the show, who is not Garry Gannon, who wasn't to pleased with the issues. And both or at least Mr.Happy are Legacy Players.Yoshi P made a casual MMO, and casual MMO's attract casual players who are typically spoiled pieces of human trash from XBL, PSN, and WoW playing on a fancy computer their parents got them. They expect everything to be F2P and work perfectly when they want it to, and if it doesn't they throw fits, demand they get compensation, and get crappy unethical sellout blogs like Kotaku, 1up, Massively, etc, to give the game bad press and bash it for normal problems that almost every MMO has at launch.
FFXI was a hardcore MMO that weeded those disgusting people out in the Dunes, so we had a great community. Unfortunately we don't have hardcore MMO's anymore because this new generation of gamers can't handle a hard game, so we're stuck with them.

I sorry, Yoshi. I sorry. ;.;
No, what is sad is being treated like crap by SE. I can't even make a new post to this community, because they don't want to hear what the users really want to say.
What is sad is that they hired morons to run the NA/EU servers who couldn't figure out how to deal with the load that they KNEW they were going to get.
What is sad is people like you who make excuses for people who can't do their job and shouldn't have their job in the first place.
What is sad is that when I try to play a game I paid in advance for, thus telling SE just how many people to expect, that they can't supply me with what I paid for. It is sad that the one time I got in this weekend I had to get up at 5AM to log in, so I could come back later at 10 and actually play the game.
So stop making excuses for people who can't do their jobs, and lets start demanding that they hire people who can do those jobs.

Or maybe people just disagreed with said "citicism" (most often expressed with tones and rudeness that bordered on the insane) and just expressed that. When one suggests something completely silly in a forum, he should expect his "opinion" to be criticized, especially if he isn't able to express said "opinion" in a civil way, like a very large percentage of those that have made a point on thinking they know so much better than the development team on how to make a good game.

I can feel the hatred emanating from you lolThe expectations demonstrated there are: "Never speak negatively of ARR or anyone behind it. Mercilessly eviscerate anyone who dares speak a critical opinion, or offers a suggestion you don't like; shun them and tell them to "go away if they dare do so".
Yeah... "Different" alright. A real "Snapshot of Tolerance" that place was, and this place, so far, is shaping up to be.
You people are hilarious.
Thanks for the early morning laugh
If you don't like it, why do you hang around? Just curious. Typically, I find that community boards for a given game are, for the most part, made up of fans of the game, who generally tend to enjoy the game they are playing and enjoy speaking positively of it.
Perhaps you should find a forum community that would be a bit more neutral? It's like going to a Nintendo forum and complaining that everyone seems to enjoy Nintendo.
