Why do people think SE is worthy of so much respect? They just follow the trend of other massive and shitty game companies. They are designing their games for graphics over gameplay and story as apparent in FF13 and then continue to shove FF13 sequels down everyone's throats, FF14 1.0 failed terribly, they keep pushing games onto ipads and phones, most of their best games in recent years were remastered ports. This game is just another generic mmo but with chocobos and moogles, SE hasn't done anything so great in a long time that they deserve complete loyalty when the game fails to work. If we're being entitled then so are SE, they think they can just keep taking our money without putting out any products of excellence so we have earned a right to complain I think.

Yep. Its an awesome game, when it works. But giving 25 servers to a tiny island nation, and only 25 more to the rest of the world is about the stupidest thing ive ever come across... ever.

The amount of Japanese gamers who A) play FF, and B) play MMO's cant fill those 25 servers. Squee knew how many preorders were sold. They had no excuse to say "oh, we didnt know..."

Most people do need to suck it up and realize that they just got to be patient. I know the team is working real hard at whatever it is they need to do to iron out the kinks and I'll be continuing my support. I'm not denying it's frustrating, and I'm not denying that it warrants complaints, but some of the vitriol has been downright awful and undeserving. Period. I don't pretend to know what's going on at SE.

However, those "white knights" that are apt to extremely defend this game are being just as arrogant and haughty as the "unwashed masses". It's not a good look and for a community that was supposedly painted as a polite & helpful bunch. I know now that it was just a hollow veneer. When mixed with an actual and more widespread player base suddenly the lot of you are up in arms and it's awful watching some of you stoop as low as the "scum" you claim to be above.

It IS sad. I'm so disappointed with both camps.

As a US citizen I am ashame how people act in and out the gamming community, but you got to remember that not all of us are like this. I even fell in love the game even as 1.0 after the ui lag fix because the crafting. Now I fell in love with it even more now what Yoshi has plan for this game. I mean come on the golden saucer, how can you say no to that, or the mounts that look like the ones from FF III or just the other stuff he has in mind for the game. I really looking forward to all this. I know I can't always log into my character on US server, but I will be paitent. I love this game.

To everyone that instantly calls "White Knight!" on supporters... if we're all white knights for SUPPORTING developers that are pouring their passion into this game and it makes us look bad.. then what should we do? Wrong, what I'll never forget is the lack of education, etiquette and respect people like you have. I've never seen such a huge amount of insufferable people dumping their accumulated hatred on such an insignificant part of life (a video game.) Everyone here since Saturday is entitled to receive the advertised services (a smooth gaming experience), but the way people like you are approaching it is completely wrong; and if you think you are at least 1% right, I sure hope you don't work in a place that has to deal with the public. You just contradicted yourself. The posts telling people to leave the game are there. There's no use denying it.

The thread you used as an example is a terrible one where support is imminent, someone who is whining that there are issues within a week of launch and then complain 24/7 on forums. SE is working on it and with a bit of support + Constructive Criticism, we'll create a better game all around, including server work.

Totally agree with the support and constructive criticism, but the issues still remain and people are still going to complain about it. The thread is terrible yes, but let's not pretend it doesn't discredit some of the problems that ARE prevalent right now. If I wanted to use another (less terrible?) post to pull more of these attitudes from, I easily could.

Yes it is shameful the way the community has laid on the hate in the last couple of days, but its also shameful for a company with SE's reputation to provide us with such a pitiful amount of details on the situation.. Sorry if it offends but from the lack of info on when/where and what is going on/going to be resolved, there concern to the rest of the population outside there island just seems a bit lackluster at best.

Its unfortunate really and I don't put all the blame solely on Yoshi or anyone else in particular ,its just a sad series of events that everyone just has to deal with. When confronted with these types of situation ppl do tend to get worked upped, and some get vocal. Its all just a very shitty situation in which no one wins.

Except the AFK'ers Who are infact the bottom of the barrel in this community. Login restrictions were placed so that when ppl had to stop for work/school/sleep they were suppose to log out so someone else could have there spot, but in the end a buncha @$$hats decided to afk, screwing others out of there spot, by EXPLOITING the fact that theres no idle kick! IMO anyone who Idled for more that 6 hours straight should receive 180 day ban. Whats the point of being logged in if you don't move or chat for 6 hours?!?!?!?!?!

Yoshida's team are the kind that will scope out the community for feedback to improve the game. Japanese take critique very seriously. Making vile comments for a Western game might be tolerated, but for the Japanese, it can take the soul out of them.

If you have critique, fine, but play nice. You can be nice and still be stern. Offer suggestions with your critique. For example:

Incorrect: "1017 AGAIN !~!?@~!@ You spent 3 years on this crap??"
Correct: "Instead of the 1017 error due to the login restrictions, perhaps arrange us in a queue? Maybe you can have a Final Fantasy trivia slideshow or minigame for people to pass the time. Another idea would be to place people in a random dungeon instance with Duty Finder until the server queue is up."

Normally I would support a notion like that. When there was official confirmation about the length of open beta and early access the result was pages and pages of people complaining. It became annoying since it was a "what's done is done" type deal and I wanted to see people suck it up and move on. These login limitations are a much more severe issue that affects thousands of players each and every day and will continue to do so until specific action is taken. For some players the login limitation isn't even the most upsetting part. It's the lack of reassurance SE has delivered promising that they are spending every hour of every day trying to resolve this matter as soon as absolutely possible. I've been a supporter of this game from the very beginning and I know I will continue to play for years to come, but this is the most frustrated I have ever been with this game.
