Just to test tried the Asuran Armguard code I got from my 3xJP version FFXIII and...

The code's region is inapplicable.
You can only enter codes from the same region as your Square Enix account.

At least we have some hope that they might fix this. Since Rio got an email from support. Devs if your out there please reach out to us.

Been away for the weekend, but I have not recieved any news, but when I do I will let you guys know ^^
I understand they have a large amount of people contacting them with various problems so I am sure they will get to us as soon as they can

Its not just an issue for those mugu mugu earrings. other items codes aren't working either. i have a US code for both the Asuran Gauntlets and the Onion Helm and neither will work. I keep submitting tickets but Support just keeps closing them on me without an answer.
