Not ranting (well, trying not to) but if the worst thing that is happening in your life right now is not being able to log-in a character in a fictional world or if your minion is not here on time or you have not receive your character's hat, it means you are a pretty lucky person.

Really... reading the forum, "First world problems" comes to mind.

Some people could really revise their priority I think.

Not to mention Yoshi teared up on the livestream. If anything people should be mad at S-E themselves and how they handle servers, not at Yoshi and his development team. They did a great job turning everything around gameplay and world wise.

I would agree. I came home today fully expecting to sign-on and play some more but could not get on. I shrugged my shoulders and did something else while checking back every 30 minutes. I was much more happy when I got to long in rather than sitting in front of my computer reading these forums and continuing to try and log in.

You saw that too? I am surprised no one is talking about it here yet... even the up-all-nighters. I can't post a new topic as I never really post due to being lazy but the end of the live stream was fairly shocking. I did not expect Yoshi P to mention the NA/EU servers, or any problems, to be honest. I do not know if you understand Japanese but a notion like this stands out when no issues are mentioned, minus a few developing challenges to laugh at, during an entire live stream but then to dedicate a 5 min speech to go over the NA/EU issues and how poorly things have been going. Yoshi P then get chocked up, and had to recompose himself, when trying to restate that they are doing all they can to resolve the issues and hoping everyone continues to show their support and be patient, while recognizing the expectation that this version cannot be another failure. It was good to see some humility.

Plaah... I dunno why there are people such as you OP who have to come and point out the obvious in the forums?
I get it, we have warm home, food in our table and working internet connection with fancy PCs and then there are billions of people who don't.
I know, my mother always told me to eat all my food or else they would exchange me to a little girl from Africa who would gladly eat the food I so hated - Did it make me like the food? Nope, but I ate it and survived. I wish back then I had the neighbor kid telling me that if I just eat the food I will not die, because I did not know that :S

What if the reason I'm playing FFXIV in my mom's dank, dark basement is because I've lost my job and my wife dumped me and took the kids, and all I have to live for is some online game and is the only human contact I'll have all week besides my estranged mom.

Of course this isn't true for most of us (well not me at least), but thinking everyone's preveledged just because they can play FFXIV is a misconception.

I'm so tired of this phrase. If you really gave a crap you wouldn't be posting nonsense on a forum, you'd be out saving the world or something. So ride your high horse off into the sunset and away from preaching pseudo philosophical idiocy on a gaming forum.

To me this is just another incredibly stupid way to try to excuse a miserable launch. And as such, it is fail.
