I preordered a standard ps3 edition at Gamestop only to be told they are "out of codes" so now that I missed out on early access, how do I claim my pet etc?

The cait sith? Unfortunately if Gamestop ran out of preorder codes then that's on them and not SE, you could try contacting support, they may just give you a code if you ask nicely and can prove you bought it before the 27th.
