Community Site for Oceanics/ENG Players on JP Servers

Hello Everyone! I'm glad to see more people playing FFXIV:ARR. Welcome! For those of you who are Oceanic players or English speaking players on Japanese servers I have a resource for you.

Oceania Community, http://oceania.guildwork.com/ , is a FFXIV:ARR community website just for you. Come check it out and connect with other Oceanics and English speaking players! It's a great place to find a Free Company to join (what guilds are called in FFXIV) or Linkshells (chat groups). You'll also find discussions on the benefits of playing on a Japanese server verses a North American server, and vice versa.

Not sure where the Oceanic presence is? Here is a list of the unofficial servers you'll find a lot of the community on:

Early access is just 4 hours away! If you are an Oceanic player still looking for a place to call home, above are the unofficial Oceanic servers. For any English players looking to play on a Japanese server or an NA/EU server with a more international feel you might want to consider settling down on one of these too.

Owatatsumi San thank you very much for this link, i was hoping to play on a Japanese server at some point, i work with Japanese visual culture and modding and would love to have more interaction ...and to have a site that is English friendly helps a lot. thanks for sharing that and hope to check it all out. So Behemoth is the only new server that is active for new players? i am assuming we can't access Legacy worlds unless we are Legacy players. Thanks again.

Hey, CrisGer! Glad I could help. From what I've read if you want to play on the Canadian data center for the NA/EU regions, Behemoth is the main new server to go to for Oceanics, though some are spread out on other servers too. If you don't mind playing on the data center in Tokyo for the Japan region, Tonberry is the new server of choice and the one you'd want to go to if you want to play with Japanese players. I actually live in central U.S. and decided to play on Tonberry. I wanted to play with people from around the world. My ping is <215. You'll have to check what it'd be for you and weigh if you want to. Just Google about FFXIV:ARR data centers and ping and you should turn up something to help you out. I'll post something if I can find it.

New players can actually play on Legacy servers so JP Legacy server Masamune could be another choice. It has a pretty established community since its Legacy and some people hail it as the international sever. It's locked to more Legacy players but should be open to new players. It'll probably fill up fast though and restriction for Early Access will be gated so you should jump on it while you can! Be warned since high level characters will already exist int he world. I'm not sure how many Japanese actually play on servers that aren't on the Tokyo data center.

Thank you O San that is very helpful, yes my invite came for the site you have posted about and thanks for that info. I may indeed try the Tokyo server, i work with a number of people in Japan already and it would be fun to widen my connections, and be part of that community, I dont mind high level characters, i can level up pretty fast ...but i AM going to take time and really enjoy this wonderful world ..it has probably the most beautiful and successful graphics for a full persistence full cycle 3D World game i have seen with this kind of volume...really impressed with what Yoshi San and team have achieved......my PING wont be a problem as i have military speed DSL due to the work i do around the world thanks again for the info and the welcome in! much appreciated.
