    Error 1016: Character Data Appears to be Corrupt (Ongoing for over 50 hours)

    Hello,

    I contacted customer support who said they could not help me and told me to contact a GM in game who told me they could not help me and that I should post a bug report here. I hope that here I will finally be able to get some assistance.

    The short story is that during Early Access on Saturday the 24th I was disconnected in Limsa Lominsa while using an Aetheryte crystal to teleport from Hawker's Alley to the Aftcastle. I believe the error I received was 90000 at the time, followed by error 10102 until an emergency maintenance was started. Afterwards and ever since I have only ever received error 1016 except for the times when I occasionally get the 1017 error due to login limitations. As mentioned above I have been getting this error for well over 50 hours and no amount of emergency maintenances has been able to resolve my issue.

    I am able to log onto an alternate character I have made on Hyperion for attempted communication with the GM staff, I can log onto other characters on other servers, only my main character Avelle Asteria suffers from this problem. I have also tried to log into Avelle using a different computer altogether.

    Attached is an image of the issue below followed by bug details:

    Steps:
    1. Had just finished crafting in Hawker's Alley
    2. Ran to Aetheryte crystal in Hawker's Alley
    3. Selected the Aftcastle as the destination
    4. Suddenly disconnected, not 100% sure but recall error being 90000
    5. Error 10102 every attempt after until emergency maintenance
    6. After emergency maintenance concluded error 1016 ever since

    Bugs not fixed by maintenance

    Can we possibly get a higher priority on this? The run around that the support division is giving to this issue is unreasonable. Calls to support that go nowhere with suggestions to talk to a GM in game, GMs that don't even attempt to understand the problem before saying it's not their concern and to post on the boards, multiple threads that just get ignored. He even had a phone support representative tell him to just wait it out and see if the release would magically fix it. Don't hire extra support for a release if they're just going to piss the customers off even more.

    I understand that customer support is busy because of a new launch, but someone needs to be taking the time to find the critical bugs and prioritizing them, and this is clearly one of them. 1016 errors that corrupt the character data and persist through multiple maintenance now, with 3 days of no acknowledgement from anyone in the support department that this is even being looked at, much less addressed.

    The fact that there hasn't been an official response acknowledging the issue on this thread is worrisome at best. Nuvas is a Legacy player and has clearly put a lot of time into leveling their character. To think that they're not able to enjoy the game AT ALL with their main character yet makes me wonder how much support there will be if this happens to me. Please make a clear and easy course of action for us to take if an issue such as this arises, as the regular customer support lines appear to be unable to resolve an issue of this nature.

    Show Nuvas, a loyal customer of yours for 8+ years, that you care enough to fix his issue which is the ONLY way he can enjoy the game. At least tell him that someone capable of correcting the issue is looking into it or will be doing so shortly... this is so disappointing.

    Now that a member of the Taru master race as contributed to this topic it will be moved to the priority queue. If, however, this fails, the issue should therefore be resolved on the basis of Avelle being a part of the masochist 11 community; of which I also am a part of.

    I'm amazed there hasn't even been acknowledgement that a player is suffering from an issue like this. I would think that one of the easiest ways to alienate an entire customer base is to let players 100% not be able to play the game and then ignore the issue entirely.

    This is absolutely absurd. A customer has had the same problem for more than 72 hours. There seems to have been nothing but "not my problem" throughout all official channels except where SE has yet to even acknowledge the problem.
