true strike... good idea. Should have picked up on that. Used to manage some tomcat servers that took CC payments for a county's tax assessor--data was replicated nightly, so I scripted a routine to change the site to a static notice page about the server going down for maintenance, and then fired off the replication scripts a while later to give people time to get out of their transactions and stuff, then took the site down, flipped the site back to their live pages, and restarted everything.

It was a helluva lot of careful timing involved pulling data from DEC Alpha's, IBM iSeries, and Windows servers, along with a VPN and FTP pull. Uggh.. MS-SQL <shudders>... and people wonder why I left the IT field.

And I'm only A+ certified... no Cisco or Microsoft certifications.... just little old Prometric. If I can do it... I'm sure SE can figure out a way.
