Trouble getting chocobo mount

Actually... If you have an old 1.0 character and you used to have a chocobo in 1.0, visit the calamity salvager and find your old chocobo whistle.
Use that and you should be able to ride chocobos.

Pretty sure there have been plenty of posts on the old lodestone that some items would be available on the calamity salvager... It has been mentioned somewhere at least.

Ah found it. Wow they really need to tell us this! Ya like us 1.0 non-legacy players really were paying attention to the lodestone, and they have this whole article that I did read on transitioning to ARR:
