Trouble getting chocobo mount

I have completed the main story and joined a GC but there is no quest there for me to get a chocobo, do i have to be a certain rank or something to get it?

I'm a player returning from 1.0 myself. I had the chocobo on my old character. I just got the Grand Company however I can't summon my Chocobo and the key item isn't listed with the quartermaster.

What do I do?

you have to be at least a private third rank.

It shows up in the quartermaster, at least it's supposed to. It will have the rank symbol next to it with a number of slashes to what sub rank. 1st class, 2nd class. Ect.

When you first travel back to joining your FC (this is for Gridania and the Twin Adders) you are interrupted and you are asked to go check on something. You do this quest and save Biggs and Wedge. Then you come back and join up. You are then told to present the item to the Chocobo keeper guy which entails collecting 2,000 GC seals and exchange them with the quarter master. That is roughly it. I maybe missing something here but this is pretty much it.

Just to be sure, did you check all tabs with things the NPC sells?
Might need to select the leftmost rank when checking the seller to make the right item list show...

You need to purchase a Chocobo insurance from your GC for 2000 seals and bring it to the nearby Chocobo "dealer" to obtain your "company vehicle" ... It's actually on of the quests where it say all the details.

This is clearly a bug, I have the same issue, noticed the Chocobo Issuance isn't purchasable from the Grand Company quartermaster, I'm already private second rank and on the lvl 24 GC quest.

I checked my Journal, under complete it says "My Little Chocobo" (Gridania) complete! What the heck?!? I am positive I have no chocobo whistle either, checked delivery moogle, inventory, key items, retainer.

Note I am a 1.0 account that isn't Legacy, I think SQ assumed everyone on 1.0 was legacy and there is a bug where non-legacy 1.0 players can't re-do the quest for a chocobo whistle. I feel totally betrayed, all that extra time running around lvl 21-24.
