Does anyone else here find it funny that rather than implementing an afk system, they would rather spend time putting severe restriction for server logins instead? Oh boy....

It was probably the easier of the choices, especially if they hadn't already prepared an AFK timer. It's not a standard plugin for servers you know.
Ok, then isnt it reasonable to think that a company with an armada of programmers intent on releasing an MMO could I dont know..program this plugin? At least over the last several days..surely thats not a herculean task. Give me 3 days to make an AFK plugin for an MMO server and Ill manage something and I know dick about programming.
What's funny, is that they apparently decided to use a private home server box, to handle an entire nation.
Seriously - the demand of MMOs on servers is well documented for 10+ years now.
How can you, in this day and age, not begin with a server capable of handling this?
It's hilarious, in that "I'm grinning so wide my eye is having a spasm" kind of way.
When any little change can spell disaster for a server under extreme load, 2 days isn't really enough time. And I would bet on the actual network team being pretty small, which is why things are taking so long. Just because you work as a game dev doesn't mean you could do anything with servers. I'm not trying to defend them, I'm just trying to explain why it could be taking this long short of total incompetence which I do not believe they have.Ok, then isnt it reasonable to think that a company with an armada of programmers intent on releasing an MMO could I dont know..program this plugin? Fair enough, it would seem to me though that a good solution would be to alleviate the extreme server load. Theres nothing gained by allowing a select few access while the masses toil and get more and more pissed off. Just bring it all down, implement an AFK plugin and fix whatever issues you have then bring things back up. Honestly a constantly in flux server between up and running and down and under maintenance is worlds better than a velvet rope guarded by Gurkhas. When any little change can spell disaster for a server under extreme load, 2 days isn't really enough time.
