Very sorry you are all upset. I am guilty of afking all day while at work.
If I am kicked I have my alarm set for 5am edt just to double check I'm still logged in. If I lost connection, it is very easy to log back in at that time.
even if I was disconnected, nothing can destroy my log in macro.
I use a nostromo, and make a macro that hits 0 over and over faster than I can push the button myself, and it's set on a toggle switch.
Hit my macro, go to dinner, come home, and I'll be spamming holy on cd, but hey, I'm playing. Thankfully.

Like I said in my previous comment, there are ways to avoid a force logout. I would do something similar.

I'm currently logged in the game at home while I'm sitting at work. I use Chrome Remote Desktop to check on the game every hour or so to do some administrative stuff on my character and FC and sometime chat with who ever is online.

In FFXI I would stay logged in the game for days at a time.
