Yoshi's interview with Gamasutra is actually what inspired me to purchase and subscribe to FFXIV after the beta completely turned me off to the game. I'm happy to see some of the critically important changes that have already been put into the game, and I look forward to the changes coming under his direction.

His openness and informal style of communication is very refreshing after Square|Enix seemed to be so closed to concerns and feedback. It reminds me of the attitudes from CCP, who are probably my favorite MMO developers to watch (and whose MMO I've also been a happy subscriber to for years).

I admit, I'm really liking him and the community team.

A friendly, fun atmoshere is what I'm looking for most. It's not just about liking the devs, devs with that kind of attitude are more likely to produce a game I'm interested in playing. He listens to the community and tries to do what he can to bring the community together, without losing his own ideas and focus in the process. I like that.

Actually Yoshida's influence already had some quite evident results. You're writing (quite a lot actually) on one of them.

he (probably not single-handedly, but that's beyond the point) revolutioned Square Enix's communication. That's, by itself, a rather sizable achievement.

And his favourite MMO is Dark Age of Camelot. He deserves praise even just for that. At the very least he has good taste.

I am a big fan also. He really seems to understand the players needs and wants. He seems open to suggestions. Because he is also a player he goes through the same trials and celebrations that the players do. He has really changed things since he started in a very good way. Hurray for Yoshi - P.

I am starting to see a lot of improvement since he has taken over. I really am pleased, even if the updates are released in small chunks multiple times a month... it's really given me something to look forward to.

It's evident that he plays the game regularly, which is awesome. I wonder if there's some rule among the devs now that they must play at least an hour a day or something so that they get a feel for how their planned and current changes affect the players. It sounds like a good idea to me.

I love Yoshi-P, seriously he should read this and feel appreciated because I don't think he feels that way sometimes being a game developer in charge of atm not so great game. He's really trying, everyone can tell, and he says it like it is from the heart, I feel he has a passion for this game Tanaka did not have, not to hate on Tanaka, I don't think EVERYTHING was his fault.

I have said it before and i will say it again, Yoshi-p seems like the type of guy that you could go have a drink with and have a good time hanging out with him. The dude is forthright and a really good jovial and personable yet serious personalty drips from every sentence in his letters and the direct posts he makes here. He really seems to grock the current situation with the game. Couldn't imagine a better person at the helm and as the Chief pr guy.
